wasn't expecting such a crazy match for spain-netherlands last night. was worth my effort staying up till 5 for that match

predictions for tonight
colombia-greece 3-0
uruguay-costa rica 2-0 (4-0 if suarez makes it back in time)
england-italy 2-1 (can't deny the talent in the england squad, as much as i dislike them)
japan-ivory coast 2-1 ideally, but at least 1-1 or even 1-2 realistically (pretty much expecting yaya to steamroll the japan midfield)

It's a late post I know, but I was shocked with results.. 5-1 .wtf. 
When Persie hit the first goal, I was like .omg. and than one by one were reaching Spain's "gates"! The game was awesome!!

mixed bag of results this round. the costa rica-uruguay match was a big shock. never thought they would have lost with that scoreline even without suarez. columbia and ivory coast wins were pretty much expected though, and i'm happy to be proven wrong for the england-italy match as well, although as a liverpool fan i never thought i would have been disappointed to see that sturridge dance.

but still, even with the japan loss, i was happy that my favourite japanese player got on the scoresheet. GO HONDA!!

Wow Costa Rica was really a huge but pleasant surprise, I think not many people expected it but it's nice to see a "small" team winning. Nice goals too, not lucky ones!

Disappointed with the result from England and Japan. Well for Japan it was a little bit expected but my heart wanted them to win of course! They didn't play that well to be honest, especially in second half they were really weak IMHO. Well hopefully they can do better for the other games. England had chances for the draw but missed them...  .sweat. 

For today's games:
Switzerland - Ecuador : 2-2
France - Honduras : 3-0
Argentina - Bosnia-Herzegovina : 3-1

Well as French I hope for the draw on the Switzerland game ^^ Would be better for us I think? Well depends on our result but should be better. I'm really not sure how this game can end.

And a win against Honduras for us of course but I'm kind of scared... France has that bad habit of failing bad sometimes and they could lose or maybe draw this one... Would be a bad surprise, we have an ok/good team and it seems better than in the recent past so it should be a win. Don't screw this up French players...  .knuckles. 

Argentina should win but maybe not that easily, I say 3-1 because I want goals and more goals but could end up much closer.

Anyway so far we have a lot of goals I'm happy! Not sure how it compares to other world cups but if I remember correctly so far it's muuuuuch better than in 2010  .clap.

tonight's matches are pretty meh.. france and argentina wins are almost a given, while i think switzerland have a pretty good squad this year. gonna skip out on watching tonight to catch up on last night's sleep.

Yeah France =D Happy, they didn't fail at all, good game and deserved win of course. That being said, Honduras was clearly the worst team in the WC so far, weak even at the start with 11 players. I wonder how France will play the 2 other games, it's going to be much more difficult.

last night's results were pretty expected, although i didn't think switzerland would have struggled to win. but yeah, france without ribery played well but they were against honduras which wasn't much of a test. who knows how they will fare without ribery against the other teams

germany-portugal 1-2 (letting my heart[size=32] [/size]rule this time round as a portugal fan, even though i'm betting on germany to win the tournament)
iran-nigeria 0-1 (don't care about this match)
USA-ghana 2-0

all the matches so far have not produced any draws yet (surprisingly), so i'm not going to predict a draw anymore until it actually happens.

It was a surprise, considering the 5-3-1-1 strategy during the first half. It was 45 minutes of "OH MY GOD D:". Sabella, what were you thinking? Seriously.

Wow Portugal what happened to you seriously :/ Portugal+Spain same story. And I thought they had a chance but today they were so far away from Germany my god. Never doubt the Germans I guess, they always win at the end anyway as they saying goes xD

never understand why people love to make predictions but it's always funny to me seeing them  .lol. (HRMT was right on the iran - nigeria match anyway)

this world cup is gonna be fun, still unsure who'll be the winner out of these teams. some are good and some might fall behind thanks to some "strange" referee choises (as today for portugal. it would not change the game, but there was still a missing penality for them ugh poor guys).

felt like i was in enemy camp last night being surrounded by all those germany fans, and it didn't help that portugal was being literally mutilated by germany. i doubt anyone cared about the iran-nigeria match considering that they are expected to be eliminated. didn't watch the USA match though (the match isn't big enough for me to wake up at 6am), so i can't comment on that.

belgium has many players with great individual ability on paper but it is yet to be seen how these players perform together on the same team. i don't think the group itself will post much of a threat to them so i think the knockout matches are the gauge of whether they are the real deal or just a bunch of overhyped dudes. russia are not the same team i used to know, i barely know anyone there anymore, so i'm hoping south korea can pull off a good result and take a step towards the next round

as for brazil, i'm still not really convinced by them. they're playing on home soil but i don't think they have the ability to last the distance. it's to be seen whether the decision to leave out coutinho was a bad one. that said i still think they have enough ability to see of mexico comfortably.

Good come back from Belgium but to be honest Algeria had 1 chance and they got a penalty then they were 100% on defense. To be honest, and even if this was maybe their best option, I don't like teams that play with that mindset. Sure they are not Brazil but to have all the players defend in their 40 meters... this is a World Cup come one guys. in the end happy that Belgium won, they played bad 1st half then much better in 2nd half.
