Well I always supposed they don't have a car. Not sure how it's supposed to work in their situation and living in a big city?

They don't live together anymore so when they go to "work" I supposed they take the bus? Or maybe someone from the staff picks them up everytime with the van? I doubt they each have a car and then drive to "work" each time like it was a 8-5h job and then say goodbye and leave with their car.

Obviously when they go to perform somewhere they have the staff van but on a regular day I'm not sure how they do it.

Also is it really useful to have a car when you live in a big city? 

But then if they don't have a car it means they could meet fans everyday on the bus and all and be... well... "harassed" or annoyed each time. No?

It's actually an interesting topic lol. If I had to bet on something I guess I would say someone from the staff gets them with a car/van and takes care of them. Maybe even 2-3 different members of the staff, like #1 lives near TIMO so he picks her up everytime and #2 picks up the 3 other girls depending on where they live.

Maybe they have a schedule to pick each girl up in the morning on a "normal day at the office" and then for each other day (like when they need to travel to another city, etc) they simply make a pick up schedule for that day.

And this message got way too long just talking about their car lol .wtf. .whiteflag.

Well the whole car in a big city thing all comes down to how often you go places, I live right outside Chicago and drive there all the time. Have a friend from New York City and it was the same for him. But clearly Mami does not have a car as she is talking about the bus and train so often.

Guess being a celebrity is different in Japan...I know if they were popular here in the US they would have to be heavily disguised and still be recognized often and be harassed to death. Maybe that popular Japanese politeness and not just going up and talking to people they don't know extends a little to the celebrities as well!

Some background info on living in Japan. In major cities, it is entirely possible to live one's entire life without owning private transport. This is because Japan has the most extensive and most efficient public transportation network in the world.

The girls have mentioned several times previously that they take the train to commute in the city. For other non-routine engagements, they have someone pick them up and drop them off.

Also, Japanese fans tend to be quite respectful so even if they do notice the girls on a bus or a train it is highly unlikely anything unpleasant will happen.

I would also like to bring up something else. The culture and society of Japan can be very, very different from the west so don't be surprised if some things don't make sense to westerners. Some of these differences are very, very big. It's a long story so I suggest some extra reading for those who are interested.

EDIT: As Jade mentioned below, yeah, they aren't *that* famous. Certainly nothing like your typical AKB member anyway, not by a long shot.

I don't know how Japanese fans can retain themselves.  If I were to see one of the members I would for sure make a scene haha.

That's the one thing in your post I was unsure of as I have noticed that Mami talks about being "disguised" at concerts or others public events...also noticed when she goes to her stylist she isn't wearing makeup(unlike every other female customer of his which can be seen on his twitter account) and practically has her hair covering her face as if to hide her identity.

This only bumps up my respect for Japanese society which I didn't think could go any higher than it is already cause I would go all girly screamy if I saw Mami .wow. .hora.

Also, despite what you guys may think, they aren't that famous in Japan, at least not to the point where most people on the street would recognize them. Maybe a few out of every couple of hundred people might, if even that, and I'm sure they're always respectful and courteous if they do say something to them.

Anyway, that's enough about that subject in this topic.

It totally slip my mind,  I vaguely remember about the Sonic Bang festival.  Thanks to everyone for the info.  

But wow!  so many trips, almost every weekend, and in between weekdays, they seem to have something.  So many works,  I hope they don't overwork themselves,  I know it's for the fans, the live and the very fact they love to perf, but it's overloading.

if they still are, im going to start putting some pressure on Anime Expo and Otakon since they are topping 50k people now, should be able to afford it easily! Or better yet, Dragoncon which is already epic!
