My list:

~Kanda (DGrayman) ~ he's a cool character type and I love that haha so powerful as well.
~Uryuu Ishida (Bleach) ~ i love ishida! not much of hunk but his personality rocks! so smart too.
~Kyoya (kyaa~) (KHR) ~ snobbish man but very powerful, not much of a social guy though.
~Natsu(Fairytail)~ very friendly guy not to mention very powerful too!

Takano Kyohei and Nakahara Sunako from Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge because they're so strong, good at fighting, cool, scary/gory movies-lover, and many other things that I know I can't do. Also, Sunako's really good at cooking and she has some traits that I want to have. .happy.

That's all that I can think of right now. I have lots in my list but I can't remember it so yeah..

Kuchiki Byakuya (Bleach) - Never EVER loses his cool and he always seems to have some trump card in his fights.
Yagami Light (Death Note) - Extremely intelligent and I think it's darn cool whenever he reveals how he's outsmarted other people haha. L is cool too but not as much as Light IMO.
Domon Kasshu (Mobile Fighter G Gundam) - The ultimate cool hot-blooded badass. Almost always manages to defeat his opponents with pure strength. Also, he's the top martial artist in the world AKA the King of Hearts.
Daimon Masaru (Digimon Savers) - Another cool hot-blooded guy. He never backs down from ANY fight. He punches Digimon in their faces. How cool is that? Happy

really disappointed that only one person mentioned anybody from the "Index" series, specially cuz its really good,

Misaka Mikoto, To Aru Majutsu no Index/To Aru Kagaku no RAILGUN

-Taiga Aisaka from Toradora: I like Tsundere and she is cute and funny !

hinata shintani - kaichou wa maid sama: he may looks cute more than cool, but see when he's serious LOVE
the alternate haruhi suzumiya - the disappearance of haruhi suzumiya : cool energetic long haired girl.
erza scarlet - fairy tail : cool full of passion strict and strong wizard. see when she's angry in galuna island and when she beats aria. but over that she's still cute a little feminine girl.
rukia kuchiki - bleach : serious bunny loving shinigami
ichida uryuu - bleach : cool handsome talented quincy. the best part of his face is on his glasses. i love him more when he's move his glasses up.

Touma (Toaru) He is cool, especially when he decides to help someone.
Koyomi (Monogatari) His character is pretty damn awesome.
Hitagi (Monogatari) She so Tsun yet so dere Wink
Kenshiro (Souten no Ken) How he risk his life for his friends is pretty awesome.
Zoro (One Piece) He is so cool ! especially when he wanted to trade his life for luffy's!

Ling Yao (FMA: Brotherhood) - Expert fighter, a determined protector of his people (Even combines with Greed)

This. Hei ist one of the best anime characters I've ever seen. I just love how his style and nature, even though he became some kind of alcoholic homeless at the end of the last season.
I'd say that Kenshiro (Hokuto no Ken) and Light Yagami (Death Note) belong to this category of "best anime characters ever" too, they're almost perfect.
