Since the seal on my vinyl was already open when I got it, I decided to celebrate new year by listening to the vinyl! :D
What a nice experience it was. It is a really nice quality production with everything from the thickness of the outer sleeve, the nice large album art to the nice thick heavy weight LP. It has some really nice artwork on the inside as well, which I couldn't capture well with a poor cellphone camera.

talking about rankings etc I wonder if the vinyl edition counted on the oricon sales.

I don't see how it would make a material difference since it'd be a miniscule number, but there's no reason why they wouldn't be. Oricon counts all versions of physical album sales. Anyway, a lot of us buy multiple versions, so if the purpose of counting sales is to determine popularity, then for every CD or record you think isn't counted, you'd also have to remove a CD or album that is. All that really matters is comparing apples to apples, which means one album to another on the same chart. All of these things that are counted or not counted are the same from one album to another.

I just got the limited edition cd + dvd as a gift. The album is awesome. Full of energy and more complicated riffs now. They've really improved a lot. On the DVD part though, I saddens me that it doesn't have any subtitles. Anyone here know where to get subs for that? I'd very much appreciate it. thanks people!

I'm quite optimistic that they can reach that number or even more. Besides, Valentines Day is coming and ladies must consider buying copies of Hello World for their husbands or boyfriends. Who knows!

Meanwhile, I played my Hello World LP for the first time since I've purchased it last December. This record was auditioned through my refurbished Rega RP1, a vintage Onkyo tube integrated amp (used as phono preamp) borrowed from my neighbor connected to my 12-year-old and still working Panasonic hi-fi. 

This is my quick review of Hello World based based on the clarity of the sound, not the composition style of each songs.

So far, Departure and Winter Story are my unlikely favorites in the album. There is so much Beatles-meets-Liz Phair feel in Winter Story.

In my opinion, Image and Graduation sounds more powerful on the vinyl format compare to the CD version. Not as heavy or too distorted which is just right for my ears.

Oyasumi is a surpisingly good. Rina pulled it off well despite of the synthesized vocals. However, this trip-hop/shoegaze track doesn't match to the "retro concept" of Hello World because it stands out too much compare to the rest of the tracks. It would be great if it was released as a stand alone single or to be included in their next album. 

Too bad, Nai Nai Night isn't included.... even as a hidden track. It may sound better on vinyl.

i know this is late but Tetsuya Komuro sure is a well known person in the entertainment world who has done works with popular artists like Namie Amuro and Ayumi Hamasaki among others and apparently, he is recognized as the most successful producer in Japanese music history. 
Now I get why Rina said that it's unusual of him to produce a song to a band. This is a good thing to SCANDAL that even people like him was attracted to the band, and this means that SCANDAL is catching eyes from everyone, tho I hope SCANDAL's music would still remain to rock.
