Previews always make me expect something different from a song

Hon Wo Yomu sure is interesting~ It's quite a stand-out track because of its uniqueness, haha. Thanks for those snippet shares!

@Everyone: Looking forward to my Hello World Vinyl edition and Image single that just got confirmed from CDJ. I'm kinda jealous that most of you are from Europe, Asia and USA that gets to see them live and I can't~ oh well.

I use the slowest (and cheapest) way so I'll have my CDs around new Year. They need around 4 weeks and then you have Christmas holidays.

I smiled when I listened to the snippet of Hon wo Yomu.. didn't expect that coming... hehe. Kan Biru sounds very nostalgic (pretty much the same sound I'm used to listening growing up). 

Anyway, my order was shipped today.. Yeyy

First impressions:

Hon wo Yomu is genius. Mami, wow.


Canned Beer.. light on its feet, fresh. 


Further confirmed with HQ quality, Love in Action is a stunning success. 


Oyasumi works as a nice break in style while still feeling like it fits in. Heavier than it seems at first. Electronic textures, great bass line, rush of guitars. 


I don't think it's too early for me to say it's my favorite Scandal album, by some distance. 

Purchased the digital version on iTunes JP because I couldn't wait for my physical version.

First Impressions:

I absolutely love Onegai Navigation. Probably my favorite. It just has that Scandal feel. The composition, lyrics, atmosphere and everything in between.

Canned Beer is really interesting. One of my favorite "Solo Singing" songs. However, Hon wo Yomu... has that Mami feeling. I really like that too.

I wonder if the regular edition that comes inside the t-shirt edition has the first press stickers?
Doesn't seem like it.

the album sounds good.. it's so tranquil, peaceful and so calming to my ears. the album has this winter-feeling to me, cos starting in the second half of the album, I imagined being in the coldest time of the season with all the snow, the silent neighborhood, you all alone in your room covered with thick blankets in the dark, late at night... it's really the perfect setting to listen to the album and it kinda harmonizes with your most inner self..
aahh.. and im glad i didn't click the previews, listening to it from the first to the last without expectations on each songs is really nice. Oyasumi, tho, really caught my ears! this was a good experimental song! RINA, you did great   Kan Biiru is also good, I like the tune; and at first I was ok with love in action but then the song gets progressively better! MAMI did well  HARU's first song was nice too, it feels slow but kinda edgy at the same time lol
and songs that I really like in this album: Image, love in action, Winter Story, Oyasumi, and Place of Life and seems like I'm attracted to soft-tunes songs

This album is nice overall, I kinda like those sound effects


i cant wait for my album to arrive, hopefully this week~


edit: so I was remembering something cos I feel like Oyasumi sounds familiar to something and I figured out that I was listening to these songs of Hatsune Miku this afternoon

Winter Story is like an ending song in anime....

Just listened to the 45s previews, How wo Yomu surprised me lol, sounds very different, the new Koe for our MAMI?

Kan Biiru sounds nice but need for the whole song.

Winter story sounds nice and calm, I like the melody so far in the preview.

The albums seems fantastic, but going to wait for the full songs in HQ before posting my review/ranking ^^

Winter Story gave me an eargasm omg  .smile. .smile.

Place of life is also good.
This, without a doubt, is better than STANDARD.

I checked HMV and the only content for the Vinyl is:
Disc 1: Image, Your Song, love in action
Disc 2: Onegai Navigation, Runners High, Hon wo Yomu, Kan biiru

So, no Place of Life, Oyasumi, Winter Story, Graduation, YnR, Departure?
Or could there be 2 vinyls and the songs not written are the side Bs?  Got a bit confused, just want to clear it up  Thanks in advance!

No, all 13 songs are on the Vinyl Edition. There are indeed 2 records that come in it. Both have an A-side and a B-side, and yes, HMV just didn't list the B-side songs. They didn't do a very good job with putting in all of the information haha.

It's pretty common for Vinyl album release in double discs now. Even those re-release of old catalogue are splitted in 2 disc instead of thin single vinyl. Heavy weight vinyl is used nowadays to withstand warping.
Just received a phone call that my T-Shirt edition & LP album are ready for picking up. So excited and can't wait until tomorrow!

It's usual now? This would be my first time getting 2 Vinyl records in one pack haha.

@Mamitachu My turntable refuse to work anymore the same day my guitar hero Gary Moore passed away.
I'm more than happy to have Scandal LP as part of the collection anyway.

Need some help - I'd be grateful if anyone who had been in Japan on the day of a SCANDAL album release can point me in the right direction.

This morning I headed to a branch of TSUTAYA in Osaka (not a really big one, about 8 mins walk from Osaka JR) - they had Hello World but when I asked whether they had the member bonus (MAMI), the store clerk was not sure if there was (as if the branch hadn't received the memo). I do note on the shelf the label had SCANDAL feat MAMI which is a bit weird as she is a member of the band - but possibly pointing that out denoting MAMI as the bonus offered by their store.

Later in the afternoon I went to Tower Records and they had a sign with the photo of HARU's bonus, but they had run out (it was like 3pm).

My questions are:
1. Are these bonuses only available at the larger branches eg TSUTAYA Shibuya and the like? I had notice at Shibuya if a CD has a bonus, there is an additional sticker with, say, ポストカード for a bonus postcard. There was no such sticker this morning at this branch.

2. There was no mad rush of SCANDAL fans whatsoever but with the bonus item no longer available by 3 pm - does it mean that the numbers of the bonuses are lesser than the actual number first releases?

3. Are these bonuses specific for a particular release, or you'll get it regardless of you buying a regular, DVD or T shirt edition?

I saw the vinyl copies - they had two physical copies at Tower in Sannomiya, Kobe. Looked very very nice - almost like a thin large book, and not your regular 12" record!

Don't know for sure if only larger branches have them, but it's possible that the store you went to just had sold out of their stock already. People can pre-order/reserve their copies at the store of their choice well in advance, so technically those people should have first dibs on the first presses and bonuses. Probably what goes on the shelves after that are what the stores have left over. Though I'm sure high-volume stores like Tower Shibuya would receive way more copies in general than a smaller Tower would, like a Tower Mini. Aside from that, the album did officially hit stores yesterday on 12/2, giving people plenty of time to snatch up any first presses.

It depends on what bonus you're talking about; this time they have the member clear files for the 4 usual stores (Tower, TSUTAYA, HMV, Shinseido), band clear file for Sony, and the B2 poster for a number of other stores. If you're talking about the member files, only the 4 usual stores have them, and yes, those are very limited in quantity (way less than the posters, it seems like) and definitely lesser than the number of first presses.

3. Are these bonuses specific for a particular release, or you'll get it regardless of you buying a regular, DVD or T shirt edition?

You will get the bonus regardless of what edition it is. If you're buying it at a physical store, it usually just has to have a sticker on the front saying that bonus comes with it. If you're not sure, it might be best to ask an employee about it, if possible. Two years ago when I was in Japan and QAT had been released about a month before, I found a copy of the DVD Edition at a Tower store in Osaka with a "特典 (bonus)" sticker on it. I was surprised and asked an employee just to make sure, but it did turn out that they didn't have any bonuses left after all.
