Stereopony’s USA tour was announced today! They will be making 3 stops through California the weekend following their appearance at Sakura-con 2012.

Stereopony New Single: Stand by Me – 2012.5.30 Release

It was announced on the Official Stereopony Website Stereopony’s latest single, entitled “Stand By Me” will be released on the 30th of May! This is Stereopony’s 11th single.

“Stand By Me” is being used as the ending track to the new Eureka 7 AO anime and therefore will arrive in 3 editions; a limited edition with a DVD containing the PV for stand by me, the regular edition, and an anime edition that contains the anime edit of the single.

The title track is paired with one new song which translates to “wolf” and is a arranged with Serial TV Drama, who Stereopony previously collaborated on their third album More! More!! More!!!
Serial TV Drama broke up the evening before the announcement of the new single (March 24th, 2012) conducting their final performance. The track is described as a fast paced “rock n’ roll” song!

I have noticed that a lot of people here like Stereopony. What songs would you recommend for someone like me who has never heard them before?

Chiisana Mahou is my favorite, but it's a little lighter than most of their other songs (kinda like Haruka for Scandal). Smilife is a good example of their heavier, more punkish songs. Hitohira no Hanabira is their major debut single, like Doll for Scandal, and both songs have a raw but catchy sound. Be sure to check out the Scandalpony collaboration on those two songs too!

You should check out Very Good Days, the Stereopony international fan forum. They do a great job over there, and you can get a lot more information about the band.

Stereopony is pretty eclectic like Scandal and I think as soon as you start listening to them you'll find lots of music that you like.

Well it's all been laid out for you Yoshi, but Stereopony is highly recommended if you're into SCANDAL... There's less pop and slightly more grunt, so the two bands can't be deemed too similar in style...

I feel nostalgic at times when I listen to their music, so you'll appreciate it a lot if you were into Jpop/rock/etc. back in the day... Well, in my old age at least... HA HA!!!

Haha freakin arc... Here, I'll make the list shorter.

If you're into rock, you'll like "stand by me," "Ookami," "Never Look Back," "Hanbunko," and "Viva La Viva La."

If you like slower songs with nice vocals that you can sleep to, you'll like "Nagareboshi."

If you're into acoustic guitar songs, try "Arigatou," "Sakune," and "Nakanaide."

Or you can do what I did and watch the following music videos in this order: "Tsukiakari no Michishirube," "I do it," "Namida no Mukou," and "Hitohira no Hanabira."

And if you don't know already, the song "Smilife" seems to be a collective favorite among the SH members who watched STEREOPONY in California. Hope that helps narrow down your search and you'll find something that you like.

I can answer this question for you. Stereopony wrote about each of the songs in their blog. It was stated that both those songs were responses to "Hitohira no Hanabira" and "Sweet Blue" respectively. Stereopony wrote both HnH and Sweet Blue prior to their debut.
