That has been a big problem with the entire playoffs this year - bad reffing decisions significantly impacting game results at crucial moments. I understand the refs have a tough job out there and some decisions have to be made in a split second but some of the calls were ridiculous and they should have gone for a review in lieu of making a call on the spot, leading to the instance being a non-reviewable event.
Rangers had game two taken away from them with the non-call of goalie interference, leading to the Kings' tying goal and subsequent overtime win, same with game five penalty call. But like the Tampa games, if the Rangers buried their chances (and they had quite a few), then the bad calls wouldn't have hurt as bad. I too stayed up all night watching the game hoping for a Rangers comeback but such is life. Tampa suffered some bad calls at wrong times and ended up losing most games by one goal etc but same thing, if they buried the chances they got and in Tampa's case, played a full 60min in all games, they wouldn't have been swept (at least the Rangers generally played the full 60min in all games).
Oh, congrats to the Kings and their fans btw
