the PV is Mad-ish, init, now a days there doing narrative along with performance of course. the PV would b sick if them guys didnt do the cheerleader thing, that put a scar on me lol,
the story of the PV was hard, its beafing Tomo and Mami vs Rina and Haru, peak Almond Crash lost i was rooting 4 them, then they went 2 the next level thing and pulled out a water gun and started 2 spray at each other thats hard fam.

I notice people say they dont recognise scandal anymore since they went

music. However do we actually know they didnt go that way because they
actually wanted to as they like pop music. The girls themselves have

Alright, let's see what I think about the new Taiyou Scandalous PV. (Strictly the video, not the song itself)
Overall, I liked it waaaay more than Harukaze. An outstanding summer-time music video that is full of color, energy, and fun!(not to mention some "friendly" competition!)
Both outfits (the main white ones and the colorful short-shorts ones) look great and fit in with the theme very well. #OhMyTomo! Nice of them to havecolourwhite-coordinated instruments too! I hope a making-of video will show up soon so I can see how stable those platforms are hahah. Dobondobondo vs. Almond Crush swimming competition was also a nice touch. I wonder if that event was one of those Olympic qualifiers? 
As for certain tidbits that other users commented on: yes the first sight of speedos in the video made me do a literal double-take. Sure, the video, since it IS a summer single, contained some sexiness. But what's a summer music video (shot at an indoor pool for that matter) without some wet and wild fun! To me, I thought that the ending scene looked like they were taking their clothes off to play that capture the flag kind of game(the previous shot had a group of people doing it). Made sense to me since they were by the wave pool. OR it could all just be a tease since this is the "Scandalous Sun." Oh yeah, and I think the difference between the Tomo solo shots and Haru solos is that during Tomos lines, the music kind of dies down a bit and gets more (for the lack of a better word) "sentimental", then when it's Haru's turn the instruments pick it up to tempo again. I'm sure if the roles were reversed, Tomo would be cheering too since she's the more hyper one!

The shoot was held at an indoor swimming pool. The concept is 「ENJOY SUMMER!!」. The members of SCANDAL split up into 2 groups and each team faced one another in a competition held at the pool.
Young men and women swimmers participated as extras, making it a summerlike, lively music video.

I watched the Low Quality PV yesterday. I like it. The video amplifies the rock "Summer" feel. When I first heard the song from previews, I guess it was a mistake to compare it to TaiKimi.
After hearing the whole track and watching the PV, that's where I realized that they cannot be compared. TaiKimi has the feel good "Pop" tune which is catchy on my ears while Taiyou Scandalous has the awesome "Rock" tune for summer which also catchy for me. So all in all, for me, TaiKimi and Taiyou Scandalous couldn't compare to each other. I love it both for a Summer song.
Oh, going to the PV of Taiyou Scandalous, I like it. They're hot as the summer in Japan. I knew Dobondobondo Team would win against Almond Crush

The only other concern is that Sony seem unsure of how to market the girls, we know they are not idols.
Then again her looks aren't the main reason I love SCANDAL's drummer girl
I agree with you about Sony not being sure how to market the girls. Not since Z.O.N.E has a group like SCANDAL jumped onto the field. I do think they are a Bandol (Band/Idol) group so they can potentially have a wide appeal. Can't just market them as a band that just stands there and plays music and can't just market them as a pretty Idol group that looks pretty and dances around. Then there are the girls themselves. Haru likes to periodically change her look, Tomo is all over the place on & off the stage, and although both Mami & Rina play along, they are focusing on their music and improving their skills. This probably makes it difficult to market an image when the girls have been constantly changing their image since Baby Action.
Hopefully Sony will figure out the right formula eventually, but probably won't happen until the girls discover their own images and styles. So, I'm gonna enjoy this version of SCANDAL and I'm looking forward to the next incarnation the girls explore

Honestly speaking, I love this PV. It has a fun summer feel to it, and there's tons of energy. But I did expect something more than just cheering on a swim match at the pool.
Also, about what Anemayfan said, it is hard to market an image when their images are constantly changing. But then again, by changing their image, we can always anticipate about what their next PV is about. All of the SCANDAL members recently graduated from high school, and are slowly moving away from the uniform look. Now that they're now experimenting with their own style, one can only guess what will be the outcome. Of course it will be great

Good lord, they are all ridiculously cute in this video. I'm just not sure the song fits it. I don't know what the song's actually about (I haven't read a translation yet) but it doesn't really sound *quite* as happy as all this, being in a minor key. It's upbeat but it's still in a minor key and has a little bit of an edge to it. I actually really like the song but this wasn't the impression I got from just hearing the audio by itself before I saw the video.
As for how the girls are being marketed, come on! They have always been an idol band in Japan. Their sexiness has always been a huge part of their image - always. So this is nothing new. It's one of the reasons they even exist - they were all dancers and somebody had the bright idea of encouraging them to form a band. Why do you think that was?? They never even played instruments before - it's not like anyone knew they'd be good at it. They are an idol band. They'd never have even been signed to Sony otherwise.
