The 'KitaKou' school in Haruhi is modelled on the actual high school in Japan called 'Hyogo Kenritsu Nishinomiya Kita Koko'
which in English is 'Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya North High School'

You should know that most models (buildings, people, items, everything) is based on real ones. It's much easier to recreate a complex item in 3D/2D, than to create it from scratch... When you want it to be realistic, that is. Still, the differences between reality and the anime are definitely smaller than I expected.

i watched this but i didnt get to finish it. cuz when i tried to watch it on Animeseason.com, the episodes were kinda messed up i dont know which episodes goes first and next after the previous. .stars.

@timooooo actually there is a certain "game" with the episodes.
Its hard to explain, but they were released in a mixed up way, so the first episode, which might be the movie, is the ep.00, and the 2nd episode is the first. all along the series its like this.
What you need to do is either see this like it is, and by the end you'll get everything (if you want to understand which ep is supposed to be next, watch the end of the ep) or you can go to this website http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzumiya_Haruhi_no_Y%C5%AButsu and in the episode part see which you should see next.

That's all apart of the beauty of the anime, but don't worry that did happen to me too. I watched until ep.6 and saw it was mixed and stopped, but the addiction to wanting to know how it ended made me saw it all again. .love.
