I used to listen metal quite a lot.... But nowadays I tend to explore to any genre, and begin to share my interest...

However, I never left Dir en Grey out of my list... Are they also considered as metal?

For me it's Onmyo-Za. It's my favourite band. They're just amazing artists in absolutely every way. They're not exclusively metal but mostly.

The rest of the metal I listen to is a song-by-song thing. No particular band.

I do not know if they are metal, but 'Dir en grey' are fantastic.

Awesome power metal

Ahh metal... While not strictly a metal head I do like my fair share of the heavier side of music. These days I listen to more punkish, hard rockish, alt mellow stuff but I come back to metal every now and then.

The Big 4 (Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth), Maiden, Priest, Skid Row etc. I also listen to thrash, death and grind too. Sepultura ( ), Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Carcass, Kreator, Entombed, Morgoth, Brutal Truth, Helloween, Gamma Ray etc etc..

I recently discovered Aldious and I think they're awesome.

I found this metalcore band yesterday called Feed Her To The Sharks and I can't stop listening to them! It's another good band from Austrailia thats still unsigned I think.

I like the fact that everybody here loves metal, and nobody discriminates each other over which sub-genre/cross-over or fusion genre is better. I think we don't have to fight about that because it really depends on the person.. Oh, sorry bout the rant..

^ I'm still discovering Lamb of God now but I like em! (esp. the Ashes of the Wake Album) They rock.. I know a few songs by The Black Dahlia Murder and they're cool.. I also like As I Lay Dying and a little bit of Alesana.. And I love Maximum The Hormone.. \m/-

@nekomami I used to listen to most of the bands you mentioned, like Lamb of God, Suicide Silence and etc. until I decided to stop listening to them because I just realized that their themes and lyrics are very "demonic/satanic". But that was only my thoughts about those bands, some says it depends on how you interpret their lyrics.

But I love hardcore and metal music and I can't just stop listening to it, so I just look for an alternative to that, that's when I found about Christian Metal bands like Demon Hunter, Becoming the Archetype, War of Ages, Rise Against and etc.

PS: I'm not claiming that I am a Christian nor I'm trying to be very religious or what (since it has definitely nothing to do with religion) just having fun listening to them.

I'm one myself, but I prefer symphonic/melodic/power metal and progressive metal over death/thrash/black etc metal.
My favorite progressive metal band is Dream Theater (love the new A Dramatic Turn of Events)
Other bands I listen to and my faves are Symphony X, Angra, Heavenly, Versailles, Galneryus and oh so many more. .clap.

As a guitarist I listen to these bands usually for influences. .hardwork.

Hey just wanna ask, are there Death Metal fans/listeners here? I mean strictly Death Metal; not Deathcore or Melodeath. Because I'm trying to explore this genre and I would like to ask for suggestions for good bands/albums/songs to try out? I've already tried these songs and liked them:

btw don't get me wrong I LOVE Melodic Death Metal and core music like metalcore; I just want to explore other metal genres..
