i would like to meet up and buy some magazines at the places that you guys bought as well, but unfortunately work and school has me occupied most of the time that bookstore is reallly far from east la, any other places that will order it?

sorry, i don't think you'll find a place east of the 710 that carries this stuff until you get to OC.

Memorial Day Weekend is coming up and I've heard some rumblings that it might be a good time for us to have another gathering, so let's see if we can make it happen!

We can go for another Little Tokyo gathering; of course any other suggestions are more than welcome, there might be cool stuff happening during that weekend.

If you're interested, please say which day would work best for you.

For starters, let's try for Saturday 5/28 at 1:00 PM. Please don't hesitate to suggest alternate dates/times.

what about mitsuwa marketplace? haha i tried looking for arena magazine there but i couldn't

@ZeroN...Which Mitsuwa? I know of two. In Torrance and in WLA. I'm good with either.
But there's a lot more eating choices in Little Tokyo and a lot more to see and do.
Hey wat...I think you'll like Jungle in Little Tokyo. A lot of figures and anime stuff.

My vote is Little Tokyo. On Sat.

There's also a Mitsuwa in Santa Monica, but I've never been, so I can't speak for quality of it. There's a lot of places to eat there, but there's also plenty in LT, so either way. Jungle is nice, but they're overpriced considering they're just about the only anime-goods store in LA.

Btw, I'm keeping that Saturday open, especially now since it looks like I'll be picking up Lale at Union Station.

EDIT: So, since Lale and I are waiting on what time we should meet, let's get some ideas - are we meeting for Lunch? If so Lale is gonna take a train that arrives at Noon-ish. If we're meeting earlier and hanging out for a whole day, we need to get it set up. .shout.

My favorite place in LT is Suehiro on First St. They have a good variety of Japanese food and not too expensive. Also Orochyon for ramen.

We can do lunch and then something after? I'm not sure how much there is in LT in the way of "activity" (we can only eat so much!)...karaoke? Or is that too soon .lol. Or just explore LT, since I never really walked around there before.

I don't drink so I never get drunk enough to karaoke! LOL

So is anyone going to LT tomorrow? cz my friend and I are heading there tomorrow

From there we'll go to Weller Court or across the street to Japanese Village Plaza to find a place to eat. Personally, I'd like to see the Plaza. Afterward, we can check out some of the stores that are around.

Plan to be there for around 2 hours.

hey guys, i came across today's Groupon deal and thought you might be interested. For $10 you can get $20 of food and drink (sake, etc. included! lol) at Hurry Curry in West Los Angeles. In fact, it's right across from Asahiya Bookstore where they sell SCANDAL magazines and right near this other restaurant that Jade, wat and I ate at for our first SH hangout.

lol i didnt mean this as an alternate plan, once you buy the coupon doesnt expire for 6 months afterward, not to mention the summer will bring opportunity for a ton of hangouts

As for me... I was thinking on staying more than 2 hours, since I gotta take the train down there... it all depends on mike's schedule because he's gonna help me a lot by driving me back to the station and such, so if yall have a little more time to spare we can do whatever xD

Okay, I just bought my ticket in the train, I'll be arriving at 9:50 am at LAX station and then going with mike to do whatever type of crazy stuff, and then im leaving at 7:15 (I bought the 7:15 one because if everybody's going say at 5:00 I can easily wait a few hours at the station tahts no biggie, but I wouldnt wanna leave too early! haha!

kinda short notice, but i'll be joining my friends at LA CRITICAL MASS tomorrow, Friday, for a 30 mi bicycle ride around DTLA. if you own a bike and are interested in coming, please let me know and we can ride together!
