I am from the swamps of Louisiana. There are more people from the South than I thought. I know better but I hope the World tour brings them close enough so we could all see them without going to NY or LA. A show half-way like in Texas or ATL would be sugoi

My head would probably explode if they had an Atlanta date, but I'm not holding my breath. Most likely, the rumored LA and Chicago will be as good as we get. I've also heard a rumor that Tomomi's twitter feed indicated that there won't actually be a date in NYC.  (Though, that would be amazing if that meant they were holding an event in the Southeast somewhere.  Three events: Southwest/West Coast; Northern Central USA, and Southeastern USA.  Hey, I can dream right?)

Scandal is going to Chicago on May 15-17th!

Ugh. Annoying that you have to pay what is now a $53.00 premium to get access to the concert venue since it's related to the anime convention.

"SCANDAL will be playing Friday evening at the Rosemont Theatre, located across the street and less than a block south of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Tickets will not be required for the concert, but attendees must show their Anime Central badges at the door to gain access. There will also be a small number of premium seat tickets available for advance purchase. Premium seat tickets will give purchasers assigned seating in the sections closest to the stage on the main floor."

Well, you have to pay the premium to get the actual seat tickets, which we know everyone here will want to do.

We can get a $5 group discount on con badges if we can sign up with 20+ people by April 1st. If anyone wants to join our group, please make sure to let me know by leaving a comment in this thread. I will be removing anyone who joins but does not inform me.

There's nothing about a badge number on the sign up page. Did you mean "Membership badge name"? If so, it doesn't matter what you put; you can put whichever name/nickname/etc. you'd like.

I joined the group. Friggin excited when I found out they released the dates for US tours. I know it's pretty early, Any plans on getting together around those dates?

The concert is in conjunction with an anime convention in a major city suburb. There should be plenty of cool things to do as a group before or after the concert, assuming people are interested.

Heck yeah, I'm so down for that. I personally don't like anime conventions myself, so we can do other things.

@TGE: Would it be alright if I got some of my friends (they are not in the forum) to join the anime convention group on? They may be tagging along with me for the concert as well. I'll let you know asap as possible if they're joining. (The deadline is April 1st yeah?)

As a huge baseball fan, I need to see a game at Wrigley. I'm not 100% sure that I can make it the Chicago show, but I think I will. If anyone else wants to go, let's form a group!

Fortunately, the L runs from O'Hare to Rosemont into downtown Chicago, so it'll be pretty easy for us to get around for sightseeing.

Yeah, that's fine! But, as we have 13 people in the group right now, I think we should make the cutoff date as early as possible, so please have them decide soon. As soon as we get around 20 or so people, I think it would be a good idea to get the passes ASAP.

More people for Chicago is always good - up to 16 I think when we signed up.

Even though I'm a fan of anime I'm not super interested in the con - maybe it's because my tastes in anime aren't the mega popular ones

We're already planning on doing something else on Saturday afternoon / evening.  But it would be good to have a plan for Friday once we know more about the schedule.  If it's not too bad to get priority seating that would lesson the waiting in a line.

What do tickets to Scandal concerts normally cost?  We're of the mind that $50 USD just for a concert isn't too bad - so if we don't do much at the con no biggie.  And Chicago is a lot cheaper then LA to travel to and spend time in (for us anyway)  -- and we're going to view it as a practice run for Dragon Con - since we're headed there in September.  They have the 3-2-1 rule - 3 hours of sleep - 2 meals - 1 shower per day..... at acen it's just "got soap"...  .scared.

In Japan they do cost around $50 at face value, although you're likely to pay much more if you're coming to see them from out of the country since you cannot buy tickets on your own; you usually have to have a shopping service get them for you and their fees are pretty steep. But yeah, the tickets for the lives in Japan for this tour are 5,400 yen with service fees = around $50 USD.

Nice - and way easier then try to by a ticket to see them in Japan when you don't live there is a bonus.

5400 Yen was more then $50 last time I was in Japan - gotta love floating exchange rate.

The other question I guess I've got - how early are folks planning on getting to Chicago on Friday, we've not bought tickets yet - but once we buy the con passes we're committed so will likely book airfare.  And if anyone hasn't booked a hotel yet - I suggest doing that sooner rather then later - all the super close ones are booked.

@Alxa: You'll enjoy DragonCon; it's a pretty crazy four days here in Atlanta. People that aren't even interested in attending the convention still go downtown to watch the costume parade. The event is so huge that I hope that one day Scandal will play there; last year, roughly 63,000 people came to the convention. That's actually twice as many as Anime Central had last year ("In attendance this year we had 29,675 unique individuals at our event...").

As for pricing, it doesn't appear that I can view the pricing for the House of Blues date yet. Apparently, the pricing won't be visible on the Live Nation site until ticket sales start.
