I was able to get my Osaka-jo Hall ticket through Yahoo Auctions via Rinkya. Now it's just a wait and pray until I actually get it in my hands.

As of now I plan to be in Japan until the 10th of March. Pedro in Japan? EPIC! If you are going I'll have to bring some extra yen for bail!!! Haaaaaa!!!!!!

@ Glenn: RAH HA HA!!! I don't think yen will be enough. You'd have to call the US Embassy in advance and get the paper work going right now to get me out of trouble that weekend. :D Watch out though, you might get tagged for association and end up in the slammer as well... which isn't all bad since we get to spend a few extra days in Japan. The second you mention my name is that exact moment you get tossed into the booth...

Sounds good that you got a ticket as well. That's surefire knowing that you're set as far as everything goes, but like you said, the only part left is to get it in your hands now. Pics when you do!


@ Space Ranger: Most def, you'll have a blast with us! There's a variety of characters in our ranks so the ice will break pretty quick. We pit every new face in the group to a near-death match against a randomly present SH member as an icebreaker. HA HA! Just messing man.

I want to go to AX this year, but by always having a day during July 4th really throws my schedule off.
Does anyone happen to know when the pre-sale prices will increase? I am wondering if it is worth it to go at the moment, so I'm waiting for further information to be released, but I don't want the prices to go up any further before I get them!

@ Baracuda: Next increase is on April 1st. Usually it goes up $10-$15 so be mindful of that. It could be the final increase since the con will be around the corner by then but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info! Yea I've been wanting to go for a while, but every year some personal event would occur on the days of AX.

But my siblings have gone, and I ask them much about it, I'm think I know at least the basics of AX. But yea, haha, I've seen pictures and it is quite busy!

@ Baracuda: Pictures don't do the real thing justice. Most of the action takes place out in the main lobby area where everyone congregates so you don't necessarily need to buy a pass to participate in the fun ... unless if you want to check out the panels and stuff that is.

Aside from regular fees, I personally spend less than $50 at AX nowadays but you'll want to bring at least $150-$300 for merch alone since it's your first trip. "Actually, I only spend a lot depending if there's good music artist merchandise on sale. Anna Tsuchiya took $100+ from me one year and Shoko Nakagawa took about $60. HA HA!"

You should be alright though if your siblings have been keeping you informed. It's just hectic is all.

Really? Yea, it's definitely gonna be a unique experience for me since I typically don't meet people who enjoy anime/manga/Japanese culture as much. One thing is for sure, since it's going to be my first, I plan to do a lot.

But yea, I heard things at AX can get quite expensive, and I'm going to try limit myself haha.
Oh goodness, if things are really that appealing I might have to make someone else hold my money to contain myself haha, just kidding just kidding.

Pretty recent old news but this is a good reminder for everyone, Exist Trace will be performing in the US at A-Kon this year! I'm not too familiar with the convention itself but Texas SH members have been coming over to Cali for the longest time now for concerts and stuff, so this is probably one where Cali and everyone else can return the favor. :D

Just to be quick, Exist+Trace is an all female vis-kei metal band (from Japan... of course). More melodic now than before, so it's user friendly for anyone not wanting to burst their eardrums.

@ Baracuda: Yeah it's a convention full of anime fans and the like but some of the people there can be down right rude. It's not anything major but it just comes down it basic mannerisms and such. Things like not apologizing after bumping into you to other things like reeking of bad armpit BO. HA HA! Generally I'm not a mood killer and let things slide, but man, some things just need to be addressed.

It's really fun as long as you can overlook things like that, so come prepared for anything. Where are you located anyways? I assume the East coast?

After all the rumor mongering that was going around last year about a possible SCANDAL live at AX, I now think it won't happen. The biggest development of course is SCANDAL's mention of a possible European tour. They deserve it I guess. But that just makes a stronger argument for a 2014 AX live/US tour.!

@Baracuda: Love your sig! Tomo at the Indian place! That's why we searched it out when we were in Tokyo last year. The chef was a little upset that all we wanted was naan.

I am actually located in the west coat, Cali actually, to be more precise around LA. It's about an hour and a half drive to LA considering usual traffic delay.

I think the majority of US members that attended the Osaka concert have already come back to the States fairly recently, so you may have just missed them by a few days or so. We're far and wide as active members go but I think you're one of the very few in that part of the Eastcoast but I could be wrong.

SH's facebook account and site have their own respective members so it's best to link up there as well (and of course Twitter). I haven't linked up to the SH FB personally but I figured from what 320x200 mentioned a while back that there non-SH members on there as well, so finding other fans is possible if not here at SH.

Also... I'm so envious of you right now... Sakuras are blooming...

Be careful not to get dazed and fall asleep under a tree, that's dangerous. I made the mistake of falling asleep under one with my mouth open and was almost put to death by cherry blossoms. HA HA!

Ah, with all the information from back then readily available now, it'll take a lot of back breaking hours to catch up on it all if you haven't been doing so already. Luckily SCANDAL is finishing up a tour and heading back to the studio afterwards (New single already!) so there's plenty of time from now until they get super active again.

The SH staff and members are super cool so you can ask us anything if you need help or whatever, especially the US side if you have any local inquiries. You can find most of the active US members scattered around here or over on FB under the same screen names so getting in touch with us is pretty easy.

Yo dude! Sorry it took a while to greet you but "Welcome to SH!". You've been here for a while already so I can only guess that you know your way around already but this is the official USA thread used for posting up meets, events, questions, etc.

I usually post and update event information from time to time (purposely to bump the thread back up. ) so you'll see me up and around here in the early AM. "Although I admit that I've got to organize my information better for simplicity sake". Nonetheless I'll try to post up events that are happening throughout the nation to keep everything open ended but most will be focused on the Westcoast/Los Angeles area since that's where our lil group is situated at.

Likewise I've mentioned above, you'll see other active US members around in other threads and often on the SH FB/Twitter accounts so check that out if you haven't already. Don't be afraid to ask us any questions if you feel the need to, everyone here is super duper chill.
