My absolute favourite has to be 'SCANDAL'. .love.
'Tohoshinki' (when they had 5 members) comes in at second place. I'm not too fond of their newer songs though.
I tend to enjoy a lot of songs from 'YUI' too. So she would probably be my third favourite.

My turn.
The first one is obvious. I'm posting in one of their fan forums right now. You already know what explanations I'm gonna say. If you read this, you might have already been listening to them. Yep, it's SCANDAL.
Other than that:
2) L'Arc~en~Ciel - One of my all-time favorite. I'm quite sure most of you know this one.
3) LiSA - She has recognizable voice; and a good one. If you want some medium-high-pitched girly rock stuff, or meaningful screaming mellow songs, LiSA would be a good singer to listen to.
4) YUI - Twenty six years old in age, but sixteen in voice. Nice voice, kinda like Tomomi's for some reason, but YUI's voice is more suitable for mellow songs in my opinion. Also, she plays her own guitar.
5) UVERworld - If you want some good drumming rhythm in a rock song, listen to this one. I'm never really updated about them though.
Like the first post said, who knows I might attract someone to listen to these too :D

Leaving the obvious aside...
To me, SIAM SHADE is what a rock band should be. Fast, creative, wild, powerful, leaving the visual in second place and concentrating in their music.
My newest craze is all metal band girls. Cynthia and Aldious!
But I listen to several japanese artists of various genres. From Arashi to L'Arc~en~Ciel, Kamiki Aya, mihimaru GT, Aikawa Nanase, Nightmare, Tokyo Jihen, etc...
