I was thinking about my earlier idea that everyone should record their track at the same time using the original song to play along, and although that would work, it would probably end sounding very close to the original song. Since this is a cover, we should try to give it a bit more personality, like this is our own thing. So the drum --> bass --> rhythm --> lead with vocals in the end method would make sense. Although everyone is still welcome to create their own track now if they choose to, just to test if they mix well with the other tracks or to try to improve/embellish it which would probably improve the final mix.

So I guess I'm up. I know I don't have to but I usually kinda like to produce both audio and video at the same time just to make sure there aren't any discrepancies. I'll get started today.

I'm down to do just the backing vocals if someone else would like a guitar part; if not, this is fine too.

As for the vocals, am I doing Tomomi's part? Or the harmonies?

about vocal part you can discuss it with kawaii93

but can i suggest this? when kawaii93 take haruna's part you will be the backing vocal, otherwise when you take tomomi's part kawaii93 can take the backing Happy

@Spongy we could split the parts Haruna/Tomomi, and take pinq's suggestion (I was thinking the same thing!) We could share the b/v when we aren't singing.

Canadian time is very much like Malaysian, then. How's the drum tracks coming along?

I just sent a sample to pink to give him an idea of the sound and ask him if there was anything I could change. He gave me a few pointers so I'll make a few modifications and start recording. I've pretty much nailed down what I wanted to do with the track so it's just a matter of recording it.
I wanted this thing to be as good as possible so it's a bit more work than I had anticipated but things are progressing. Should be done by this weekend, if not then definitely by the 24th.

I know everyone's busy but may I give a gentle reminder to all to try check the forum somewhat regular to see the progress of the project. I've seen projects drag on for ages because band members somehow 'disappear' (can't blame 'em esp if the project had dragged on from day one). I would presume an interest in joining the project would automatically make one keep up to date.

In the preferences section of my SH profile, I have the 'always notify me of replies' switched ON. That way, I know what's up. It'll be drag, though, if you're a keen user of the Fun Corner section as you'll be getting loads of email notification.

That's my PSA done Grin

I wanted to run this by Pinq first but he seems to be busy at the moment so I'll just drop this here.

Since my first draft I've made a bunch of little corrections. It's not too late to change something if you guys want me to. Tell me what you think.

Oh, I should add that, since it was decided to do drum --> Bass --> Rythm --> lead --> vocals, I didn't play along the original Scandal track. I played by myself the whole time. I thought this would give it a bit more personality. The tempo is still pretty close to the original track but if you've already recorded your track along the original song, then it won't match my drum track.

I know, I sent a bunch. After my first draft there were many things I wasn't happy with and I wanted this thing to be as good as possible.

I was thinking... Could the rhythm guitar start with his track as well since the drums are done? Is there a reason I'm not seeing why he would need for the bass to be done first?

edit: I just realized the last time alexmontero08 posted was 2 weeks ago. He voted for this song but I'm not even sure if he knows he made the lineup. Hopefully we'll hear from him soon.
