The LA show was simply amazing, we went all out and I went to the TOMO side for the first time. I managed to get a pick from MAMI's microphone stand again thanks to Motchy-sama. .clap.

Mainstream ArtistI had the luck to get VIP tickets to both the LA and Anaheim shows. I won't write a novel about the experience, but just pick some highlights.
-LA is different than I expected; with the exception of the "hills" area, the terrain is quite flat. Very different than Atlanta which is hilly and forested all over the place.
-It was COLD. The first three days I was there, I doubt it got much above 70 degrees. I didn't even bring a wind breaker, so I was chilly up until around lunch time on Saturday waiting for the Anaheim show. Totally didn't expect that in SoCal.
-Meeting the band at the airport was fun, and they seemed happy about it, but also seemed tired. Afterward, meeting up with all the SH folks for hamburgers and beer was awesome. I had a great time chilling out and talking to people from all over.
-Everyone I met was awesome. I don't really like traveling or going to concerts by myself, and I was concerned about going all the way across the country on my own without knowing anyone. Everyone I met waiting in line on Friday and then again on Saturday was awesome. People were fun, laid back, and very friendly. I'm looking forward to seeing all of them on the next time Scandal comes to the USA (hopefully soon).
-Singing Happy Birthday to Mami on Friday evening was fun. She seemed really happy about it. She and Haruna joked about it being her "Birthday week," presumably because she had the same treatment in Mexico two days earlier.
-I can't remember his name, but the guy who first came up with the idea to make bears at the Build-A-Bear Workshop nextdoor to the Anaheim HoB was a genius. It was fun going over there with him, his girlfriend, and a couple of other guys to make bears for Haruna and Tomomi (two other guys had already done ones for Mami and Rina). I ended up spending way more than I had planned on it, but I couldn't pass on the leather jacket and leather boots for the Haru-bear. We had been planning on doing another round of Happy Birthday, this time for both Mami and Tomomi (her birthday was the following week) when the band came back for the encore, but most of us just kind of forgot about that when the band came out carrying the bears we made. The whole band really seemed happy about them, which was incredibly gratifying.
-Just a great experience. It was so much fun that I'm planning on going to Osaka next year for the 10th anniversary show, assuming the finances fall into place appropriately. I hope I get to see my SH friends there, too. :D

Caless StudentI went to the Chicago, IL USA show during the Anime Central Convention.
This is my con i go to every year, but wasn't on planning to go this year. Next thing i know is that SCANDAL is the musical guest!, it was perfect i bought my badge the same week the vip tickets started to sell. I had to buy them at the end of the week, and by the time i tried to buy one all the good sections were gone. i don't know why they didn't allow you to choose your own seat only your section. Composure! I chose the far right section.
Since SCANDAL had the concert, autographs and a panel scheduled i had thought i would stay in a hotel near the con but everything was already booked. (even though i live 30 min away) i had to look in the forums for people looking for extra people to bunk with them and help pay a portion. it was nerve wrecking, i've never bunked with strangers and who knows if they're not out there to steal cash. short story i found someone who was staff at the con. stars aligned that day because i was coming alone this time to the con, i didn't have to babysit my friends who just want to troll around. it was scandal time !
Go there Thursday, woke up early friday and made a small schedule for scandal only events.
First i scouted the area for the opening ceremonies room cause that's usually where all the con guest show up to say hi. i ended up sitting next to strangers right behind the photo people. Scandal showed up and introduced themselves and i caught it on film!
After that i went to their merch area and bought the hello world cd and the tour shirt because if you bought the shirt you'd get to take a free pic with Scandal on saturday.
Next, i had to find the autographs area, it was sorta hidden in a corner. by the time i get in the back of the line i see Global Moderator "ThoseGuiltyEyes" with her scandal cosplay (the red jacket one) had just gotten her autograph. i think staff told her she could not go in the line again LOL because there weren't many people there on that day. I spoke to random strangers about scandal and one guy had an item during their indies when they first came to chicago with many other new artist on that tour then another guy saw i had the album and asked what band member photo did i get and show him the tomomi pic, he has the same one but his came autographed!!! boo!. Got The CD manual, i chose a random picture where all the members are in it. it got signed first by mami she was smiling, then tomomi, next haruna; she looked busy directing staff and a quick hello, then my favorite RINA! She was smiling and told "i love neko bus too" because i was wearing the totoro neko bus shirt, i nodded and said thanks while blushing.
The concert. I was worried because i was running late; just had lunch and went to change at my room, and remembered i still had to get my ticket for the show. i power walked over there with a crowd since the con/my hotel/ are just right across from one another. i was anxious because people were there way earlier and the line was already going around the corner of the building. I'm waiting in the line and i see the scandal staff guy with his camera recording the people then going through the backstage door it was awesome. We wait a great while, then we start going inside and staff start separating us from paid to free (paid tickets sat at ground level while free was just available to anyone with a con badge and sat at the balcony area).
I get a scandal flyer they were giving out for memorabilia purposes and signed their u.s flag with "I <3 Scandal". I got a second row seat at the far right section yes! we weren't allowed to take pic/video because the con staff said to be courteous so more international guest would come. I sat next to a guy who was injured and had those sticks to help him walk and to my right were a couple who the girlfriend seemed uninterested and in front of me was a short man who i remembered; he was heckling the staff to let him in first cause his disabled but the old lady wasn't having none of it.
SCANDAL walks in with some groovy music with their hands in their pockets, MAMI is right in front of me. Mami puts on her guitar and stands in the darkness waiting for the cue of
RINA! with a loud bang to her drums playing Love In action. Like someone mentioned before she was a beast with the drums, it was so loud it caught me off guard and felt like i was getting heart burn LOL.
I sang the songs in the little lyrics i know in broken japanese while shaking my hands to the music.
It was fun, only down part was i felt i sat with casuals who didn't want to get up from their seats at times but the ones who were worse were the free seat balcony people who only knew one song that was in full metal alchemist Shunkan Sentimental. After the concert was over everyone chanted SCANDAL, SCANDAL until they popped out and did an encore it was an amazing night . i still feel the electricity from the concert so much i'm hearing scandal right now at full volume.
The next day, Saturday, i woke up early ate breakfast and waited in line for the scandal panel. good thing i lined up early cause the line got really long. i got a second row seat on the left side, i could see tomomi clearly, she looked at me few times but i didnt want to look back at times i didn't want to make it weird and so i looked over at rina more since she my fav but she never noticed me . They asked random questions like whats their favorite manga, things about music videos, and about Chicago. Then they had a contest where people had to answer questions and win autographed scandal items. They left and everyone cheered for them i waved at mami goodbye and she waved at me and others there bye. After that was over it was chaos, everyone rushed outta there cause the 2nd autograph session was beginning. staff told us it was over capacity already too late i almost made it. then right after everyone rushed over into another area where the vip pics will be taken.
Met new scandal friends while in line and joked on how we would mess up our poses.
Then they tell us you need your own camera to take the pic, WHAT!, they didn't tell us that but luckily i had my outdated point and shoot with me.
When it was my turn i got nervous cause i was next to haru and rina and also cause i put the tour shirt on top of my shirt i was wearing. i was so nervous that when they said thanks i didnt say anything and just bowed AHHHH . I step out the room, and see the picture the scandal staff took with my cam. it was terrible, eyes closed and the two shirts made me look bigger.
It was an experience ! hope they come back but i know they love L.A more
i framed the shirt , autographed album manual, the flyer and my ticket, ill buy a bigger better frame another day

hahaha you saw that? A couple of my friends and I saw how short the line was after we went through once, figured why not try again, and jumped in line. One of the staff members was all for it and was like, "Wow, you guys are going again!" but another staff member didn't approve, tattled on us to SCANDAL's management, and told us we couldn't do it twice. :(

I still haven't had time to finish writing my write-ups of the US shows, but I will try to post it soon! In the meantime, here's a silly photo I snapped in Anaheim:

That was the worst, we were so ready to get double autographs LOL, it was pretty sad that the line was so short but it was Friday morning so its understandable, good thing the next day it was so packed they filled 2 whole lines!

Caless StudentI went to the Chicago Concert during the Anime Central Convention Weekend. It was the best time that I ever had, and worth to but a ticket to sit up close. This was my first international concert that I finally got to see live and up close.
Then the next day, I bought their CD and went to the autographed session, and got it autographed.
At the session Rina told me that I was pretty. But I think she told everyone that, but that was something that I will never ever forget.
Hope I get to see them performing live again. .happy. .clap.

I’ve actually been meaning to write something up for the U.S shows for a few months now. I suppose nothing ever materialized because I’ve been busier with work and when I do have some downtime, I’m always forgetting to write anything for this. But~ This seems like the perfect opportunity to post a write up for the shows. I’ll make sure to prioritize getting this done this time!
This first post is actually going to be about the Chicago show only. I’m not much of a talker in real life but online is a completely different story. ^.^” I know that I’m probably going to be rambling far too much that placing all three in one post would make it too long! So we’re going to separate them into two posts~
I guess that I should mention who I was during the tour though since I never really told many people what my username on here was. ^.^” Most people knew me as Allie. I’m not the most talkative person so I don’t blame people if they forget me. It’s fairly easy haha. But if anyone does remember… That is me~
I’ll post the novel-esque write up under a spoiler for those who want to read it and post some highlights underneath for those who don’t want to read it~
My memory on Chicago is a bit fuzzy and I’ll probably forget a lot of the smaller details so I’m really sorry if I’m forgetting a lot of things. The pictures should keep my timeline on track though! I'm sorry if this is a bit wonky writing or a bit all over the place. It's not how I usually write but this is the best it's coming together for some reason haha. ^.^"
There are pictures in the spoiler tags as well.
Highlights~
-Meeting SCANDAL again for an autograph signing. Seeing Mami’s surprised reaction to the vinyl and having her actually ask where I got it was a great reaction. Having Haruna notice the cosplay outfit and seem really happy about it was the highlight of the signing though!
-The show was awesome! The crowd could have been much better but the girls were definitely on top of things and amazing as they usually are.
-The panel was a fun experience. Getting recognized by Haruna in the crowd and being handed a signed clear file from her made it an enjoyable experience! Having Haruna notice the nervousness was really embarrassing but was totally worth it to be handed a signed clear file by her.
-All the good food in Chicago. *_* I hate your weather but I love your food. :v
The cosplay outfits for anyone who doesn't want to scroll through that novel:
Thank you to eionswolf for being really nice and welcoming. I’m glad we were able to get along; it made the trip a lot more fun to be staying with someone that you’re able to get along with. ^.^
Thank you to everyone from SH for making the trip really enjoyable and memorable! I loved meeting everyone and seeing friends again. Hopefully we’ll see each other again at the next U.S event from SCANDAL. One of the things that make these trips so enjoyable is being able to see everyone and meet everyone~

- Airport arrival and first autograph signing:
- I actually arrived in Chicago late on May 13. I decided to get to Chicago a bit earlier because a family friend wanted to see me. So I thought that staying with her for the night would give us enough time to catch up. I was informed a few days before I was set to leave that I would no longer be able to stay with her. So I had to scramble for a motel room at the last second. I never did end up seeing her during the trip actually.
It was the next day actually when I was able to meet up with some friends from SH and met someone new as well. It’s always fun to see friends again and meet new people~ :3 This was actually the first time I met Steven. I feel like our first meeting was a bit awkward but everything is awkward with me. Social situations and first impressions are not exactly my strong point, I do try though. :v
We decided to meet up at a pizza place that wasn’t too far from where I was staying for a sort of breakfast/lunch type of meal. This was actually the first time I tried pizza in years because they talked me into it. xP It wasn’t half bad actually. One of my favorite things about Chicago certainly was their food haha~
When we were finished eating, we decided to head over to the airport in order to try and greet SCANDAL. We actually got there a little early from the assumed flight’s scheduled arrival so we just hung out around the lobby for a while. When it got closer to the arrival time, we got closer to the gates and decided on Gate B.
Someone had actually noticed that a group from ACEN was standing over near Gate A so we migrated over there. I think we all kind of figured that ACEN’s staff would know which Gate their artists were supposed to be coming out of…. They apparently did not. Legitimately, they did not know which gate any of the artists were supposed to be coming from and they didn’t even seem to know whether the artists were on the ANA flight or the United flight. It’s both kind of funny and kind of sad at the same time.
We stuck around ACEN because I think a lot of us figured that we couldn’t have missed SCANDAL if ACEN was still here. It’s not as if SCANDAL was exactly going to leave the airport without their guides. So we were waiting at Gate A with ACEN and a few of their artists did come from Gate A… I’m sure you can guess by this point which one SCANDAL had been set to.
The girls actually kind of came up from behind us because they were on the flight that had been set to Gate B. It really was kind of surprising to look over and notice them kind of beside us. The girls seemed really happy to see our group there. They were smiling and waved at us. This was my first experience with helping greet the girls at the airport. It’s still a surreal feeling to see them in person like that. It really was nice to see them so happy!
When the girls left the lobby, we waited around for a bit to give them time to leave. They didn’t actually leave though because ACEN kept them outside for something. It was a bit odd considering most artists would be ushered to their transportation pretty quickly but they stuck around for a fair while.
We did decide to just leave after some of us figured out what to do. Originally, a couple of us were planning to go to some museums in the city… We didn’t expect to be waiting at the airport for two hours though. By the time SCANDAL had actually come out, it was fairly late in the afternoon so our original plan didn’t work. Our group kind of split up with those going one way and the rest of us lingering around as we tried to figure out a new plan.
In the end, we decided just to head back to the hotel. When we were waiting for SCANDAL, eionswolf had actually caught up with us and he was the one I was staying with. So eionswolf and I decided to head back to the hotel and Steven, Arif, and Rich decided to come along with us. To be honest, my memory is a bit of a blur. I know we went to dinner together at some point but I really can’t remember much from before or after that. I do believe that the first place we went to for dinner was called the Chicago Fire Kitchen though!
The next day was the start of ACEN and the SCANDAL events~
eionswolf and I woke up fairly early and headed down to the convention center to meet up with everyone else. We all got there kind of early for a bit of a better spot in line waiting for the Exhibition Hall to open, which I believe opened at 10:30 am. I think this was where I met William (I can’t remember your username, I’m sorry) for the first time but he disappeared pretty quickly after meeting him haha.
This tour was actually when I decided to give wearing some cosplays a shot. I’ve entertained the idea before but I’ve never actually had the confidence to wear any of them before. Some friends talked me into giving it a shot though and I’m thankful they did. It’s really very fun! I quite like wearing these outfits and even putting them together~ I’m really happy that I finally found the courage to wear these outfits.
The first day of ACEN, I decided to wear the Shunkan Sentimental outfit that I had. Funnily enough, Jade actually wore her own Shunkan outfit. It was completely unintentional but it’s a pretty funny coincidence in my opinion. I didn’t even expect anything like that to happen and it actually kind of amused me a bit. ^.^
Anyway~ When the Exhibit Hall opened, we decided to head towards the autograph area in an effort to wait for the event to begin. We were very quickly stopped by ACEN’s staff though and told that we couldn’t line up any sooner than 30 minutes beforehand. Aw.
Since we couldn’t line up early for the signing, we decided to go find SCANDAL’s booth. I had actually been talking with a friend on Facebook and asked him where the booth was at. Somehow, I actually managed to find William again. So we talked a bit as we waited in line for the merchandise booth. We all decided to head back over to the autograph area and found a table to sit at.
Once we were able to, we lined up for the signing and I think ACEN’s staff found us fairly amusing at how eager we were for the event. :v The two guys who were helping with the event were really nice and joked with us a couple of times haha. Their website had actually said that event goers would be able to get two items signed by the guest but we were informed just before the event started that the band had requested goers only get one item signed. A bit disappointing but understandable.
I had actually brought along my Doll vinyl to be signed by the girls. Mami was the first one at the table and when I handed her the vinyl, I think she thought it was the CD version of the single. She quickly realized though that it was actually the vinyl and was really surprised about it! I definitely was not expecting any of them to be surprised by the vinyl so it was really a nice bonus for choosing to bring that along.
She had actually turned around and said something to the staff behind her. The staff told me that Mami wanted to know where I had gotten the vinyl from. I mentioned Yahoo! Auctions and Mami certainly didn’t need a translator to understand that~ I was actually hoping to kind of sneak in wishing they would make the vinyls available to foreigners but I kind of froze up and couldn’t say very much. The nervousness makes me a bit tongue tied.
Tomomi had a similar reaction to Mami though. She was equally as surprised to see the vinyl and she mentioned a “sugoi” to me when I gave it to her. Haruna was the third at the table. I didn’t actually really say much to her because honestly, she makes me the most nervous and it was really hard to speak. She said the kind of standard “hello” and “thank you” which I returned to her in a very shaky voice. When she handed me back the vinyl though, she noticed the outfit I was wearing.
She smiled at me and pointed to herself before asking “me”. Being the nervous wreck I normally am when talking to people, the only thing I could say was muttering out a very small “yes”. She said laughed a little and said thank you~ :3
After Haruna was Rina. I actually feel a little bad because by the time I got to Rina, I was more than a little nervous and a little tongue tied. So it was really hard to say much to Rina and I ended up giving her a small and shaky “hello” and thanked her for coming back to the U.S. She was really happy and really sweet. She’s seriously one of the sweetest celebrities I’ve met.
When the signing was over, we had a few hours to kill before the concert actually started since the signing was pretty early in the day. We were deciding on lunch and where we could go with our rather large group. People decided on heading up to the fashion mall just a couple of minutes away to find some food at the food court.
This was actually where I met a few other people. The only one whose name I can actually remember right now is Connor, but I don’t think I ever actually got his screen name. I will always be thankful to him for fixing my tie that no one else could fix haha. I still have no clue how to tie a tie properly. :v
I remember meeting someone else but I can’t remember your name. I’m really sorry. It makes me feel a bit bad because we actually talked for a while when we were going to get the tickets. I met a couple of other people as well but I don’t think I ever talked very much with them. ^.^”
After we were done eating, a lot of people went their separate ways until the concert. I actually drug eionswolf shopping for a bit. The fashion mall was actually cool. Although, to be honest, my favorite store was a little candy shop we found. It was really cool. I actually ended up going back before I left Chicago and bought some candy for myself and some to bring back to my mom.
After we were done exploring the mall, we decided to head back to the hotel for a bit of rest before the show.
- THE CONCERT:
- Finally, it was time for the first concert. eionswolf and I headed down a bit late to be honest. I don’t think we fully thought that one through haha. I think we kind of underestimated how many people would be in line by the time we got there. I was actually really surprised by the amount of people that were already in line!
I actually got confused a bit about where I was supposed to go since I had a premium ticket. After a while of complaining to eionswolf – who was always a good sport about listening to my often stupid ramblings – I actually found out where to go haha. ^.^”
We were let into the building a bit late and also let into the auditorium a bit late. The interior of the Rosemont Theater was actually really beautiful~
The auditorium was pretty standard though. It was still a pretty nice venue, of course!
The Chicago show was pretty awesome! Although, if I’m honest, it would actually be the last on my list of the three shows. It’s a bit of a bummer that the set list was cut short and the crowd was super disappointing. A lot of people surrounding us in the premium section didn’t actually appear to be very interested in SCANDAL and didn’t really do much. It made me feel a little bad for the girls.
The crowd in Chicago really lacked a lot of energy and interest. I really think that’s the thing that puts the show at the lowest on my list. The girls were great but the crowd was super disappointing. It was also a bit disappointing to see someone trying to sell edited SCANDAL “posters” outside the venue and that people were actually buying them. They paid like $5 that you could have done yourself at home for much less or even free…
More focusing on the concert…
It was really good and it was super nice to be able to see the girls perform live again. Seeing them live again still had the same feeling when I saw them live for the first time in Hawaii haha. I don’t think that feeling would ever fade. :v It’s always a pleasure to be able to see the girls live~ I was around three rows away from the front since that's where I was assigned. Not bad. They were good seats for me~ c:
The girls were really on top of things and they looked really happy on stage. The audio was really good. Towards the end of the show, Tomomi actually fell on stage. It was pretty surprising because I can’t remember the girls actually ever having fell on stage before. It had actually happened during one of Tomomi and Mami’s sillier moments on stage.
During the opening to Everybody Say Yeah, Haruna was trying to rally the crowd like she usually does. Tomomi and Mami had started to chase after each other across the stage and got some laughter from the crowd. When the opening was coming to an end, Haruna turned around and headed towards the two of them and Tomomi took off back to her side of the stage. She was almost there when she fell down to her knees. She got up really quickly and the girls continued on as normal.
Overall, the concert was really fun! After the concert, our group started to find each other and were just kind of standing around and talking. Eventually, we decided to take a group photo together. It was at this point where I vaguely remember a staff member for SCANDAL asking us to give a message for the girls so we gave them a message from SCANDAL-Heaven~
We decided to head back to the Chicago Fire Kitchen for some dinner before we all went our separate ways back to our hotels. eionswolf and I didn’t get back to the hotel until fairly late actually but I’ve always been a night owl so I kind of like staying out late haha.
- SCANDAL's panel:
- The next day was the end of the SCANDAL events. I decided on the Awanai outfit for the day~
eionswolf and I had headed down to the convention center fairly early again to do some exploring before SCANDAL’s panel. Initially, we were both deciding that we were going to skip the panel and go for the autograph signing but after thinking about it for a while, I decided to stay for the panel and risk the signing.
I’m glad that I did as well.
The panel started off fairly standard with the host introducing the band. They showed us some footage from the Festival DVD probably as an attempt to introduce the girls as a band to people in the audience who might not know them – since people at anime events tend to go to random events if they’ve got nothing else to do.
After the introduction, the events for the panel started. It began with SCANDAL being asked questions, moved to fans asking SCANDAL questions, and ended with SCANDAL asking us some questions. If you got the answer right, you were given a signed clear file handed to you by the girls. There were five in total: one for each member and a group one.
These were the questions the girls were asked by the host. Paraphrased a bit probably.
1. This is SCANDAL’s first time being at anime central, so what did the girls thing about it? (Haruna answered that they’ve been to anime events a few times but it had been a long time since their last one)
2. What did the girls think of America so far? (Tomomi jokingly answered that the girls had only seen the airport and their hotel so far, but they were planning on doing some sight-seeing the next day!)
3. SCANDAL has been together for about 10 years now and 7 years ago, they played at a venue called the Empty Bottle. It held about 400 people and the Rosemont Theater held about 4,000 – but was definitely not filled fully. What did they think about the improvement? (Rina answered that the girls were excited to perform that night and they were all very happy about the warm reception they received.)
4. How did the girls enjoy the tour so far? (Mami answered that in Chicago, they got to have Chicago style pizza. And everyone cheered because well… We were in Chicago haha. They also mentioned that they played in a live house in Taiwan and said that it was over air conditioned so it was like super cold in the venue. :v )
These are the questions that the audience asked SCANDAL:
1. Was the truck drive in the Image video okay? (Yes, it was an empty truck)
2. Is Wonderful Tonight going to come to the U.S market? (Haruna answered that she didn’t know of any plans for that to happen but they could look into it if fans wanted it)
3. What cosplay would the members like to do? (Mami mentioned that the Image music video was superhero cosplays and Tomo asked if they looked heroic, which everyone cheered for)
4. Who is your favorite artist from Japan that is different from your type of music? (Rina answered that they were good friends with Perfume)
5. Someone mentioned that they went to the Summer Sonic show and asked if they would like to play outside in Chicago. (All the girls basically said they’d like to try an outside performance if it wasn’t too hot outside haha )
6. How have the girls kept such a good relationship with each other? (Rina answered they were all different but were in the same band and that’s what brought them together as friends. If SCANDAL hadn’t happened then they might have never met)
7. What are their musical influences? (Mami answered the Foo Fighters)
8. What was the toughest part of their career? (Tomomi answered that there wasn’t many times where they thought of quitting because they had each other to support each other. If she was a solo artist, she said she might have already quit if she didn’t have the support of the others)
9. What’s your favorite anime? (Mami answered Attack on Titan)
10. Why is Departure special to them? (They wrote the song and the thoughts they put into it were of the four seasons and the sound of the Japanese language. The changing of the seasons was the sentiment for the song)
11. What equipment did they always use? (Rina answered that the sound of the recording studio really mattered more than the instrument itself. Haruna said as a vocalist, she usually just goes by the recommendations given to her)
These are the questions that SCANDAL asked the audience:
1. From Haruna: What is SCANDAL’s mascot’s name? (Canta)
2. From Tomomi: What’s the name of SCANDAL’s debut song? (Doll)
3. From Mami: Which anime was Yoake no Ryuuseigun used for? (Pokemon)
4. From Rina: What is the title of the encore songs from the previous night? (Harukaze and Everybody Say Yeah)
5. From everyone: Which venue did SCANDAL perform at 7 years ago in Chicago? (The Empty Bottle)
**********************
I had actually answered one of the questions and this is what made going to the panel worth it. I actually answered the first question asked by Haruna. When we she was looking over the crowd for someone to pick, she actually pointed to me and said she picked the “girl in the Awanai outfit”. I didn’t really need the host to translate that one to understand it haha. ^.^
So I stood up like the host wanted and answered the question…. Whilst stuttering and stumbling over Canta’s name. I was really nervous to be answering a question in front of SCANDAL but especially in front of a crowd. Haruna seemed like she enjoyed the nervousness though. When I finished stuttering out my answer, she said “Canta?” in a tone and smile that made it painfully obvious that she noticed the nervousness. It was both on the happiest moments and one of the most completely embarrassing moments. :v
The host asked me to come up and get the clear file from Haruna. Being handed a signed clear file from Haruna herself made going to the panel completely worth it. I’m not even upset that I forfeited the signing. That one part was definitely worth it~ ^.^ I thanked them really quickly and then headed back to my seat to sit quietly for the rest of the panel.
Afterwards, we headed up to where the picture was going to be taken. If you bought one of their tour shirts while supplies lasted, you were able to get a picture with SCANDAL. I actually got lost trying to find where to go. I have almost no sense of direction. .-. But I eventually found it!
The others who were at the signing slowly began to come up as they finished with the signing and we waited together for the picture event to start! The pictures actually went fairly quickly and smoothly. The staff was really organized when it came to the event. Our group from SH was actually able to use one of our friend’s camera for the picture which was really nice that he let us use it, and even nicer that the staff actually agreed to it. :v
We hung outside in the hallway after the photo. We were all kind of hoping that we would get to say goodbye to SCANDAL since that was the last day we would be seeing them in Chicago. SCANDAL’s staff did allow us to stay around and give them a small goodbye when they left the room, and their camera girl actually recorded us when we were out there haha.
After that, we decided to walk up to Gino’s again to have dinner together before we headed back to our separate hotels.
- Exploring Chicago:
- The last “event” from SCANDAL was a raffle for the two signed banners. If you bought from their booth, you got raffle tickets. How much you bought decided how many tickets you would get. I got around six… Tells you how much money I spent on their booth. No one from SH won the raffle.
eionswolf and I had actually gotten down to the convention center early to do some exploring and shopping around the convention. We met up with Steven as well for some exploring~ I bought way too much but I’m a sucker for cute things. After the raffle, a small group of us decided to actually go into the city to go exploring for a bit. We went downtown and visited a couple places.
Chicago is really super hot and humid but it’s a beautiful city! I really enjoyed getting the chance to see the city and I took so many pictures. We went by a couple parks, the “Bean”, and Lake Michigan. My favorite part about Chicago was Lake Michigan. I have always loved being around the water and Lake Michigan is so beautiful!
We also visited the apparently famous Billy Goat Tavern. I didn’t actually know what that place was until I googled it and then remembered it a little bit. We headed back from the city to our hotels pretty late at night.
The next day, I think a lot of people were set to leave. eionswolf and I weren’t leaving for another day though so we decided to go back into the city for some more exploring. The first things we did were actually to visit the Planetarium and the aquarium. So while we didn’t get to go to the museums when we originally intended to, we still managed to hit them up before we left Chicago~ The Planetarium was really cool and really fun. There were a lot of amazing displays and some actually fun little gadgets to mess around with!
After the museums, we decided to head farther into downtown and stopped to get some of the popcorn that’s well known in Chicago. I wasn’t planning on getting some but hearing everyone else talk about how good it was made me curious. Thank you. It actually is really good haha. We stopped by Lake Michigan to eat for a bit before we decided to head to the Navy Pier.
The Navy Pier was actually kind of disappointing. It sounded so much fun from what I was reading online but… There actually wasn’t very much there. So yeah. A bit disappointing. We did, however, find a nice fun house. It was a bunch of mazes that you had to find your way out of. A lot of it was fairly easy except for the mirror maze.
We actually got lost in that thing. We ran into another pair that was trying to make it through and teamed up with them to find the entrance. The four of us proceeded to get lost, stumble around, and crash into mirrors for quite a while before we were able to find our way out. :v It was so much fun haha.
^Fun house mirror from the outside because I never took any inside. We're so easily amused. :v
We went to Portillo’s to eat afterwards. I wanted to go there since that was the one place my mom told me that I should absolutely visit before leaving Chicago. We picked up a bag for both of us since we didn’t know if our additional luggage would fit in with our already carried along luggage. :v
That was my last day in Chicago. The next day after, I wandered around the fashion mall a bit before I had to leave to catch my flight at the airport to Los Angeles.
- Spoiler:
Thank you to eionswolf for being really nice and welcoming. I’m glad we were able to get along; it made the trip a lot more fun to be staying with someone that you’re able to get along with. ^.^
Thank you to everyone from SH for making the trip really enjoyable and memorable! I loved meeting everyone and seeing friends again. Hopefully we’ll see each other again at the next U.S event from SCANDAL. One of the things that make these trips so enjoyable is being able to see everyone and meet everyone~

Sorry for the long overdue thoughts about the concert.
My friends and I went to Hong Kong not just for vacation but also to watch SCANDAL live in concert. It was my first time to see them live.
During our first few days visiting Ocean Park, Victoria's Peak, and other landmarks in Hong Kong, ther weater was cool with heavy rain. While, there was a sudden change of temparture during the concert day. It was as SCORCHING hot as a typical summer day in Manila.
While waiting on queue to purchase SCANDAL merchandise at lunch time, we met new friends from Scandal-Heaven PH and Scandal Sushi HK. Also, the blogger from Daisuki Scandal and his friend were easy going. After buying merchandise such as concert DVDs and shirts, we had lunch with our new friend Vincent at a noodle place near the stadium.
We were standing at the third row, facing Mami. There was one poor young lady standing behind me and two other six-foot tall men who looked so sad because she can't see the band playing. I approached her to trade places with me and she agreed. I got her name and introduced her to my gal Anciel and I'm glad they got along.
Not to sound boastful to you guys, Mami caught my attention not once, not twice, but THRICE. On her third glimpse of me, I gave her a blowing kiss and she returned with a wink and a smile. There is an advantage of wearing clothes that cuts above the rest.
There is some reports from concert goes from other countries that Mami kept on forgetting some lyrics from her singature song "Hon Wo Yomu." Good thing for Mami, it never happened in Hong Kong. In fact, her eyes shown that she was really surprised with herself with her own feat.
Unfortunately, Rina was obscured behind her drum kit so, I saw just a glimpse of her except when she sang "Oyasumi". Rina's vocals was notably raspier maybe because she was not used to sing live on tour. If I were working for them, I would suggest the for Rina's drum kit to face stage left like Michael Sweet of Stryper does so that Rina will become more visible to the audiences.
The highlight of the concert was when Tomomi, who looked more seductive in person, was really overwhelmed with joy when fans raised the printed birthday greeting sheets. Hanautasancho and I screaming in Tagalog "Iiyak na yan!" (She will cry) repeatedly to tease her.
Overall, the show was fantastic and band performs WAY better live on stage.

Did I do that? It's been almost a year, and I guess I was working with about an hours worth of accumulated sleep, so my memories ranging from parts of lunch to the concert itself are a little hazy XD. Hopefully I can keep all my memories in check, I really hate forgetting things that I did. I'm not old enough to be that forgetful haha!
