My new favorite after listening to Encore Show compilation on Spotify:
"Hikare" (from Love Survive single) -- I not a fan of Love Survive but the B-side song really gave me attention after listening to it over and over. It was a solid rock n' rock song both music and lyrics wise. I love the song's classic rock feel despite of overpowering volume and tone of Rina's drum parts. Tomomi's bass lines are simply the best. I am expecting for the band to write more songs with more melodic bass lines. If I'm not mistaken, Mami plays a pretty long guitar solo there. Probably, the longest.

Sorry, but are you mistaken it for Kimi Ni Shitto Chuu? that song had a pretty long guitar solo whilst Hikare solo is very short.

Caless Student- SCANDAL BABY from BEST SCANDAL, for sure! This song can actually be a single. The band plays it in most of their shows.
- EVERYBODY SAY YEAH, GIRLism, and Sayonara My Friend from TEMPTATION BOX. The first two songs have exciting and powerful beat while the last one is touching.
- BURN and one piece in BABY ACTION. To my opinion, BURN can be a single.
- BEAUTeen!! and Switch from SCANDAL SHOW. I guess our girls wanted to put BEAUTeen!! on a separate single since they also offered instrumental version of the song in Yumemiru Tsubasa single, but somehow they didn't.
- Koe from Queens are trumps. Yes, MAMI solo!
- Satisfaction from ENCORE SHOW. Windows 8 brought me to the song.
- STANDARD from STANDARD. This is a simple song with few lyrics and more instrumental, but somehow I love it.
- Hon wo Yomu (MAMI solo) and Oyasumi (my RINA solo ) from HELLO WORLD.

Thank you for correcting me. You're right about the short guitar solo of Hikare. I was actually thinking about another song called Rainy (another new favorite) which has pretty long guitar solo. I was listening to that song before listening to Encore Show.

Shiroten Performer"LOVE" is love I'm not into ska or reggae at all but this track is just an awesome ska ballad (same as "D'yer Maker by Led Zeppelin).

Shiroten PerformerLOVE is my favorite song out of Yellow(also my current overall favorite)
Anata ga Mawaru - This one gives me the "I have to listen to this til it ends" feel. It's just a very good song.
Rainy
Flashback no. 5 - A good example of an under-appreciated song.
Koi no Gestalt Houkai - The intro is a massive explosion!
Heaven na Kibun

Same here, I dislike reggae but D'yer Maker is great (well anything written by LZ is .smile. ). Can't say I like LOVE in the same way but hopefully I will warm up to it one day. So far it's the biggest factor which holds YELLOW down for me.dampf wrote:"LOVE" is love I'm not into ska or reggae at all but this track is just an awesome ska ballad (same as "D'yer Maker by Led Zeppelin).
As for my top 5 non-singles it won't differ too much from my overall top 5.
1. Welcome home (love mid-paced songs like this, great lyrics and one of the few songs where I really appreciate Tomo's vocals)
2. Weather report (best SCANDAL chorus, Haruna just rips it)
3. Place of life (very simple composition but the guitar work is splendid, love the keyboard melody as well and the third verse where the girls take turns singing and Haruna raps is awesome)
4. Chiisana Honoo (another awesome mid-paced "feels" song, Mami's guitar licks as so tasteful here. Hats off
5. 24 jikan (guess I should pick at least one faster song since I'm a metalhead. Ayy the energy in this one is amazing, just listen to Tomo's aggressive vocals in the second chorus .clap.)

Shiroten PerformerHigh five for LZ man, that's the spirit!
I as well like "Chiisana honoo" and "Weather report". It's quite hard to say which of their album ballads is the best.
As for "YELLOW" songs i'm not into "HAPPY BIRTHDAY". It's just a filler for me.

Caless StudentSpeaking of the Yellow album.
I absolutely love "LOVE" as well!
Chisana honoo for me too, along with Konya wa pizza party. Sunday Drive as well, it's great when that comes on when I'm driving and the sun is shining.

Nice observation on comparing the song Love to D'yer Maker! Another reggae rock song Suki-Suki has traces of bands like The Police and 311.
I have noticed that a lot of guys here love B-sides from Standard and Yellow.

Shiroten PerformerFor me both albums You have mentioned are their best. "STANDARD" has many good songs and in my opinion it is almost perfect (i only do not like "Orange juice" and "brand new wave"). As for "YELLOW"... it is their most mature album, showing how they have grown up as artists and how they can combine many diferent styles (compare "LOVE", "Heaven no kibun" and "Morning sun" for example) on one album. And it has as well that specific springish or even summerish scent.
"HELLO WORLD" is good as well and it has very strong commercial potential. "YELLOW" is more about how they feel music and want to share it with us.

Hon wo Yomu, Oyasumi, Can Beer: I think everyone in band sing at least one song is a good thing.
Queens are Trumps: How much gain, this much love, Scandal rocks me hard with this song.
Burn
Tokyo Skysraper
Onegai Navigation
Runners High
Shoujo M
GIRLism
Hi-Hi-Hi
The list goes a lot more after that
