As there are 3 different versions of the song and each are titled a bit differently, it looks like they're doing the original song that covers the first 151 Pokemon. The band is part of the generation that grew up on the first generation of Pokemon, after all.

The original “Can You Name All the Pokémon?” doesn't sound interesting to me at all.
If Scandal have to make a cover, just let the Dobon team do it.

eeeh? wasn't better to have the one with the last gen of pokemon as the film (I think at least) will have? I see their point about doing the original one, but it's still strange

No, the Black & White version covers the BW generation while the new movie covers the new XY generation.

The latest rendition of the "Pokemon Ieru Kana?" song (the BW version) is already obsolete. It came out 3 years ago, and, as I said, the generation of Pokemon that the movie covers is the new XY generation. It makes more sense to cover the original song than to cover the latest one.

haha it's difficult to follow if you don't know about Pokémon but from what I understood I agree with TGE, it makes a bit more sense to use the old version for SCANDAL then.

Still think it's a missed opportunity for them to not write their own Pokémon song but if they decided to do the cover they must have their reasons and be happy like that

I read the news last night, and I'm really excited for this release!
i just (finally) heard the full preview for Yoake no Ryuusei-gun, and I'm liking it.  The medium tempo is nice, and the lyrics are great.  I can just imagine a midsummer night with streaking meteors in the sky....
 
Of course, I'm excited to hear their version of Pokemon Ieru ka na?  I've always liked Imakuni?'s original version (and the special Ieru ka na, baby? version) over the newer ones.  I actually haven't heard Tsuruno Takeshi's BW version before (despite knowing about it), so thanks for posting it.  I thought for sure that it would be an original Pokemon song for the Pikachu short or even a cover of Matsumoto Rika's Mezase Pokemon Master.  Still, I'm anticipating how SCANDAL's version will change things up to a band sound.

I just read on a french pokemon website that a special 3DS XL edition for the movie will be released but just in 10 copies and to get this 10 copies, you have to send back a postcard that will be found in SCANDAL single edition (probably the Pokémon one)!!! (°o°)

Could be, I guess.  It kind of makes sense since Imakuni? forgot Saihorn (but included Mew) in the Ieru ka na, baby? updated version.

Although, in the PV that was included on an old Pokemon VHS, I believe, they clearly show Mew's card.

I hoping that they either fit Mew in after Okorizaru or shout it at the end where Raymond usually says that Imakuni? forgot one.
