I only just discovered this band recently but since they were formed in 1997 I figured their music might not be to my taste but BOY WAS I WRONG! Literally loving every song I've listened to in the last 10 minutes, so much that I have to share with you SCANDALous guys! They sing in Mandarin but their music videos have English captions (click the cc button) and when I heard the music it reminded me a lot of some Japanese band styles I've heard so I think you'll like them! They write all their own stuff, their lyrics are great, they've been around for 15 years, done several world tours and the singer's voice is great too! Enjoy!

A collaboration stage with flumpool with a Japanese version of OAOA (great song) :D

HOMG I became a fan of them recently. Blessed to be Chinese because now I have an Asian band I can understand without having to read subtitles. I had heard a few of their songs when I was younger but I didn't know who they were, so I'm happy to have found them.

they're also releasing a japanese album covering their most popular chinese songs next week. really great to see them trying to break into the japanese market. as one of my favourite chinese singers for quite a few years, it's great that i can now get the best of both languages (japanese and chinese)

Yep, even though my Chinese isn't really good enough to completely understand the singing without seeing the lyrics it feels very familiar and comforting to hear them sing in Chinese. I've been on Japanese and Korean music so long I'm used to not really listening to the lyrics so this is a nice change!

Yeah, listening to mando music is a good change of scene. If you don't mind me asking, what is your background?

My parents are Chinese but I was born and raised in the UK so my first language is English ^^ I can understand spoken Chinese but I'm not so good at speaking and it's harder to understand singing.

Oh I see... same here... But I'm blessed to have parents constantly communicate in Mandarin and Hokkien with me since I was born. But I'm not good at reading nor writing. I still found it hard to understand when the lyrics were sung but when I read it, it seemed ok.

I swear Ashin and Mao from SID look alike with that hair. .pinch.

I'm chinese, so i can tell you this: their lyrics are really meaningful in most songs! 

Like for example, the song below is about a washing machine, but its actually about mothers and their sacrifices

Yep, I really like that song! I can understand better when I see the lyrics, but he sings with a bit of an accent or slur or something so it's harder without! I'm going to see them in London next year! :D

Their lives are quite something, and they normally have this as their ending song 

Its in hokkien, but if you translate the lyrics, it's really the best song. It's my favorite song haha

By the way, the title means 'stupid person' or 'fool'
