Does anyone else watch Begin Japanology?

I try to watch the show live on NHK World when the episode looks interesting. Last week it was about convenience stores in Japan; this week (Thursday, i.e. tomorrow) its about used books.

You can also find episodes on youtube, etc. Here's a sample - it's the episode on vending machines (I believe it's from season 5 of the show). I love that udon machine - it's so fascinating!

What is NHK mean? I download some japanese lessons from nhk radio online site. Just currious.

I knew about the show thanks to this post. Almost watched all the episodes. Great show. I'm crazy about the vending machines now, but too bad those things only sell coke cans in my country, if you can find one!

NHK is an acronym for Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai (日本放送協会) which means Japan Broadcasting Corporation.


I sometimes watch Begin Japanology when it's on. Quite interesting sometimes  .clap.
