I really wanted to love this anime, for the same reasons I wanted to love Psycho Pass. It's something new, with an "adult" theme and amazing aesthetics. It's completely different from 95% of all animes released nowadays, where we see nothing but girls doing nothing or giant flying boobs, and absolutely no plot.
But the anime ended with nothing really being accomplished.
It felt like the anime just dragged itself with things moving too slowly. And the only characters who really developed through the story were Armin and Jean. Eren never went beyond raging out of nowhere and crying, and Mikasa has no motivation other than protecting Eren.
Well, the anime is a huge success and it's obvious it will have a second season, so it's a matter of time to see if things get better.

- Anime spoilers ahead, I did not read the manga:
25 episodes just to defeat Annie, without being explaind how people get to transform into titans, or who was behind Annie's actions...
