I wouldn't want to give away a great name (I do have one in mind if I ever get a hard rock band together again), but the first band I ever named was when I was in high school.  It was called Jango, after Django Reinhardt (although technically my bassist and I named us after our guitar instructor's cat not realizing he was named after the great gypsy guitarist).

In college I had an acoustic duo and we called ourselves Soma Holiday, which is from the book "A Brave New World."  We formed an electric band as well and that was called "Jack Frost & The Hooded Crow" after a Jethro Tull song.  That was our drummer's idea.  We all thought it was a stupid name until we did a few campus interviews and we each pretended to be Jack Frost and the rest of the band was the Hooded Crow.

Several years ago, I came up an crazy idea of a visual kei parody or comedy glam rock band called Bishounen Ai Machine. The band name is a portmanteau of bishounen, the alternative manga subject called shounen ai, and machine from Nine Inch Nails' debut album Pretty Hate Machine.

During my high school days I was the bass player of a punk rock band. Me, two guys and a female lead singer/guitarist. We called ourselves Alien Cafeteria. Wonderful times...

Well I was in British Bands in the 60's and 70's ( nobody famous ) and the silliest name was probably Daddy Lindberg and the Fingers

I would name my band The Death Stallions. Was a joke name we came up with for a group project, and I find it very rock n' roll.

I'd probably go with a dumb name like "Band" or "Provisory Name" or something on those lines. 

Like the eSports team the Game Grumps create on their GG series is just called "eSports People" lol, I think it's genius
