^ I somehow agree with you about the song. I mean, I listened to the song a couple of times before it registered on me. With the exception of their voices (which we're all familiar with), the style is quite different from their past songs.

Well, it technically sounds like a Super Beaver song, so yeah, not really a Scandal song I must say.

I don't know if we can label something as a "Scandal song". I mean, they did so much different kinds of songs, from light and happy pop songs to heavier rock songs. And that is one more point that makes me like Scandal, you kinda know what to expect from them, but at the same time, you don't. I can't stand that kind of band that all songs sound the same, you can't even remember the title of each song.

For me, a SCANDAL song is a song originally performed and originally released by SCANDAL. No ifs ands or buts. Who produced/mixed/wrote the song is secondary.

I think the song can be considered a 'Scandal song'. It is being performed and released by them, I think that's enough to consider it a Scandal song. Scandal is a band that often changes up how they sound, so I don't think any of us can decide what is or isn't their sound since they are able to do so many different ones. I really like the song personally. It's a bit different from what they've done before but it's still one of their songs and still quite good.

As far as I know there are actually quite a few big names releasing their single on that very day. AKB48, Tegomass and Perfume are all I've heard of so far. KAT-TUN is releasing their single the week before but knowing their high sales, it'll probably affect the top ten charting that week SCANDAL's single will be released.

Not saying that the Oricon placement and ranking isn't important or anything, but it's kinda an iffy system. Because it's dependent on sales, it really does depend on who is releasing their material in that week for the placement of different artists.

We can't blame people for having bad taste and liking other stuff over Scandal... it's a right everyone has, but that doesn't mean they aren't wrong.
