Early Saturday morning update... Mikan... Are you close to putting down a bass track? I have Baba and Alex's tracks and your's is the final instrument. Can you record your track with the bass isolated with nothing else. I listened to your scratch track and it sounded really clean and with good tone but we need it isolated.

Note to cover band members: When you record your instruments and vocals... the higher bitrate MP3s always give better results. If you can process your track at 320kbps that would be great and make for a great recording.

Ok... Alex! Is there a way you can re-record your guitar without the drum track in the background? I'm not sure how the other guitarists cut their tracks (software/equipment) but they figured out some creative ways of doing it. Maybe one or two can post a few suggestions in here!
This will make things easier during mixdown. Also there is lots of room noise/amp noise with your distortion so anything you can do to make it more quiet would be great. Experiment and try different rooms and amp placement.
I'm not trying to be pushy. I know I'm still learning recording and mixing methods myself!

I've always used Reaper to record, and more recently started exporting as WAV rather than MP3 so it's truly lossless audio.

For guitarists the best way to record is to get a USB interface and record direct, so that you don't have background noise/interference. You can get a good one from anywhere around £100, or more if you want a top of the line one.
