Generally speaking Asian people look worse with bright blonde hair than their natural black hair, but Mami seemed to have turned her gorgeousness up another notch with her blonde (is it blue/teal now?) hair. Especially when she has it in a ponytail. Why is this so?

Sorry I disagree, I really like Mami as a person and a guitar player but I still miss her black hair.

Complexion is one of the factor why blonde hair suits MAMI,
but another factor is how the person carry it. (you know what i mean, hard to explain in words XP)

I think it's the eyeliner.
And especially her bangs. It suites her very well.

Read that elsewhere, too. And I somewhat agree. But then again, it still depends on the person whether she can carry herself well. And MAMI did just that, even back when she first had highlights on her hair for BABY ACTION and up until now.

Personally, I like her blonde look. Reminds me a little bit of Orianthi - another awesome guitarist. :>

When MAMI just had her hair blonde, we were saying we want her hair black.

Now that we are too familiar with her blonde hair, we can't adapt fast to the sudden changes

Then maybe it's because she or her stylist chose the correct shade of blonde for her which complemented her complexion. . . I don't know, I'm not an expert on this.

And anyway, she's a purple head now. But it still suit her. Maybe Mami has magic. Hahaha!

When I compared Mami's hair when she was with black hair and current hair style, I found out that she looks more appealing with the blonde hair.....

I think Mami's hair is damaged now, changing hair colors every month or so .. But, I still want her black hair back tho she looks good on blonde, too. Well, Mami is still Mami, whatever color or style it's still her, if she'll be happy with it, just Go~

Hmmm... I think it's because of her facial expression and fair skin.
Though she looks really good with blonde hair.. I still prefer her natural black hair for some reason.. .smile.

I think she does look fine everytime everywhere and it doesn't depend on hair colour 

For me, I prefer her blonde hair ! .love.

Yep, I'm worry about that. A friend of me who is working at a hairdressing salon say to me : when you have a black hair and want to dye it lighter, you have to do a "decoloration" that really damage your hair. And Mami did it a lot for keep her hair blonde...

So I hope for her, when she will be older her natural hair will be fine and won't have any problems. Even actually I don't know if she can return to her natural black hair ^^'

It's a matter of preference, actually. Some of us like her hair blonde, others like black.

When her hair was black back then, maybe it's because she didn't really have enough budget to change her hair color every now and then, and probably because she was still in school. And now that she's grown up and so well known (and presumably more well financed), this is her real self, real dream, what she imagined how she would look in the future. She can do pretty much anything she wants for herself.

As long as she, and of course the rest of the band, keeps making good music, I don't really care how she looks, be it blonde, black, and maybe someday silver haired.

Well, MAMI I think just looks good with anything. As long as she can carry it, there's no problem I see. And I'm just wishing here RINA will never change her hair color. :))

hmm.. i think blonde hair fits mami but not that good like black! So i must disagree with you @Kaitanuva ~ Mami looked more beautiful with black hair... it showed her strong personality and her cuteness in one time~ But that's just my opinion
