I'm actually very busy but I JUST HAD TO TRANSLATE THIS POST!!
TOMO reviews her own signature Squier Jazz Bass and it's a decent review too! The gearhead in me has fallen even deeper in love with her! Fantastic info for bassists here on the forum.
Oh, and at the end of the post, she asks for suggestions for a name! I would like to suggest
Btw, a summary of Tomo's bass:-
Ash body, rosewood on maple neck, 2 passive Squier J-bass pickups, 2 vol 1 tone standard J-bass circuitry (passive) and if what she says is true, a slimmer, narrower neck profile.
New Bass
Theme: TOMOMI
Timo
Alright, what everyone's been waiting for
It's time to introduce my new bassー
Eh?
The body is like this
I wasn't really fussy about the design, but I had the lines placed, just in case.. Yeah *
It's made from ash which is a different wood from the usual**
Ash characteristics gives the bass a strong and tight sound.***
The neck
The usual rosewood fingerboard on maple neck
In order to make it easier to grip the shape is slightly narrow and the edge thinner
3 knob circuit
From the picture, from the top front volume, rear volume, tone
The red Jazz bass I always use is active (meaning has active pickups) but, this one is passive (pickups)
The real bass sounds come out unaffected and feels good
The headstock
I put in a matching headstock
By the way, it doesn't have a name yet
Everyone, please think of one together
Notes:
This translation is actually pretty loose. I had to make it run smoothly in English so I had to take some liberties with the grammar.
* Tricky sentence but I think this is what she meant.
** Squier basses are usually made from agathis, basswood and alder.
*** Kinda tricky but essentially this was what she was talking about.
