I'll be sad of course, but good things too will come to an end. Just hope the best for them all, wish them luck and keep them inside my thoughts. I'll move on in life, but they'll always be part of me.

I would keep listening to their music, and downloading any songs of theirs i haven't heard, and buy all their albums! Then i'll be sad for a while, but i'll get over it and keep listening to their music and remembering the good times. .uhuh.

Well I don't wanna think about it, because they are part of my life. I will be very sad, but if this worst case scenario comes to pass, then I WILL NEVER FORGET THEM, and I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THEM AND LISTEN TO THEIR SONGS.

Don't freak out, SCANDAL is not disbanding. Though, I got curious about a different topic I saw before in here, saying "What would you do if SCANDAL disbands" or something like that.
With many japanese bands disbanding this year, I can't help but think on SCANDAL. Those bands give the most ridiculous excuses to disband and the fans are left thinking "It was that what really happened?"
So, if SCANDAL were to break-up, what excuse do you think they would tell? And what would be the real reason? How would they disband? (in a peaceful way? would they still be friends?)
Do you think some of the girls would continue a solo career? And what would be the future of the other girls?

On my oppinion it would have to be a really drastic thing to make them disband but maybe sony would release something about "music differences" or something. Because, even if they marry and have kids, I think they would only make an Hiatus (like Ai Otsuka). And, even if they disband in a nasty way, they would still be friends, after the fight.
I would like if they take solo careers after disband. The most likely to do that would be Haruna and/or Tomomi. I can't imagine Mami as a mangaka but that would be cool .wow. or she would follow Tomomi on her solo career. I can imagine Rina as a seyuu/anime singer, she just have "that" kind of voice.
That's my oppinion!

well also 2011 was a full year of disbands but nothing happened so... I think it will be hard for scandal to disband. I'm sure if they will do, it will be after years and with a sold out in one big arena, full of crying by the fans and the girls XD because I'm sure if one day, scandal will stop their activity, it will be because they're becomming older and they want to have a family and do something different. I doubt that scandal will disband if some of the girls will have arguments with the others of with the staff ahah, they don't look like that (:

I can't imagina SCANDAL disbanding. They're all tallented in my opinion and I can't see any reason to they disband. But if they disband I think that Haruna still in the music world as a singer or as a dancer. Mami have great guitar skills, maybe she will spend more time with it or she can work on anime or manga, she likes it and she can draw. Tomomi and Rina, in my opinion they have anime characters voices or they can do other things, I just don't know.

It's a fact of life that *almost* all bands disband eventually; it's just a question of when. (There are only a few Rolling Stones in the world...)

In Japan, bands like Scandal usually don't last too long; they'd be considered "veterans" already, for the type of band they are (an all girl rock band). Some may not want to admit it but a lot of their appeal is visual, and also that intangible "attainability" that is also the reason groups like AKB48 and Morning Musume have rules that say they're not allowed to have boyfriends. A lot of guys will lose interest once that happens, so it's kind of an unwritten rule for female groups of any kind of pop music, especially ones that trade on s*x appeal.

At some point everybody stops being young, starts to look a little older, starts to get tired of running and jumping around all over the place, and starts thinking about settling down. There are four members of Scandal - could you imagine the band without any one of them? It's highly unlikely that none of them will ever want to start a family and give up the rat race of constantly producing albums, singles and going on tour. When that happens with any one of them, they will disband if for no other reason than having a family will make it very difficult to keep up the schedule required for them to stay popular enough to make money.

I don't think they'll need to give an excuse. Everyone in Japan will understand. That's a legitimate reason that a lot of musicians quit there.

I give them four or five more years, though I will be happy if I'm wrong. I was wrong about Puffy, that's for sure... though they've been limping along for about the past seven years now, a shadow of their former selves. I don't really want that for Scandal either. Better to get out on top.

In one of my favorite bands, spanish Oreja De Van Gogh, lead singer Amaia Montero parted ways with the band to start a solo career. The band added another vocalist and continue to be succesful.

On another favorite, japanese High and Mighty Color, Lead vocalist Maaki parted ways with the band. The band added another vocalist, Halca, but only lasted months and soon disbanded.

It's difficult too say if I can see the band actually breaking up. Of course, being a musician myself I understand that it can happen. My band just parted ways with our drummer after five years. If it happened I think only two things could be a logical reason for how the band is now. Either the fire that they have for music just fades a bit and they don't want too deal with the grind anymore, or the family issue of them wanting husbands and kids. For the foreseeable future I'm not sure either of those are happening anytime soon. They seem too love what they do tremendously in such a way that they reminded me why I love playing music. I can't say much for their personal lives because I really just don't know about it and I don't necessarily care too know about their personal lives because it's really not my business. All in all I hope that they stay together for a long time and if they do disband they have tons of great music that is left behind and I'm sure each one will in some way continue too be involved in the music industry.

Yea, it does happen. I personally don't worry that they will disband. I just really don't like when a member leaves and they replace them. That's always my concern. Chatmonchy, one of my absolute favorite bands, had their drummer leave. I was heartbroken thinking of who would replace her. So far, they are just going without a replacement but I know they will find someone and it just won't be the Chatmonchy I knew and loved. But, it's their choices and their life. I have no control over that. So, I do actually hope they all disband before they replace any member. This is the only SCANDAL I know and probably will ever recognize.

I almost never like it when a band changes members, the only exception being when KSE (Killswitch Engage) changed singer to Howard Jones. So I hope they won't do a member change. SCANDAL is so closely woven together at this point, if one go down I'd think they all go.

Sure, one big perk of SCANDAL is that all of them look great, but if it was all about beauty my favorite band would more likely be something like AKB48. As of now I can't stand most of their music (although I do really like the girls and the concept is interesting).

But I can see how it is with many "fans". As soon as the girls start getting older, perhaps someone gets into a serious relationship SCANDAL will be replaced with a younger and more "fresh" band in the eyes of many fans. Either way, one day they will definetly disband. I really hope they get to end things their way rather than slowly dying due to lack of fans and experience live performances where 20-50 people show up or something. I actually can't see them still staying in the music industry if a disband were to happen though. Definetly not Rina at least. Tomomi and Mami are a good duo, but I don't see them making a living of the Dobondobon thing unfortunately.

Either way, they can't disband until I've had the chance to see them live at least! And I don't think they risk it at this time. Judging by the blogposts here they seem to love their tours more than anything and they definetly does not sound tired of the buisiness yet.

I'm just throwing it out there, but I hope and personally think they will at least be together for 3(+?) years assuming they don't end up in a scandal (ha-ha) or a serious internal fight. As they seem to really like playing at small stages for a closer connection with the audience, some decline in their fanbase won't hurt em.

Having heard them many times hosting shows on radio, the girls can easily transition to broadcasting should they choose to, especially if they take the time to take the necessary paper qualifications. I can definitely see the girls become DJs/hosts/announcers working for radio. Or TV, for that matter. They have the charm, the exposure, the experience and the confidence to do this.

Another thing I was thinking about, the first thing the girls will probably do if they disband is go to college.

I can also see Timo and Haru stay in music, either as production staff at a label, song/lyrics writers or sessionists (especially Timo). And Mami will finally get to open her maid cafe. And maybe Rina will finally write full time.

The one thing I DON'T want to see is them eking out a living on the "tarento" circuit. That would be a major step down.

It's not possible that SCANDAL will disband (at least for now). They're still very popular.

Depends on the reason for disbanding. If it's something reasonable (such as aging, starting a family, etc) then I would accept that and move on (but still listening to their song of course ). But, if it's something that's unreasonable or silly (such as a fight, etc) then I would try to contact them, thru fan mails, twitter, email, heck, maybe I'll go to Japan if I have the money, time, (and if they won't listen with other ways), and try to talk with them.
Sure it may seem over-the-top, but since SCANDAL have done much for us with their music, I think this is one way I could repay them should such condition happen.

P.S.: Don't worry, I'm a pretty reasonable guy. I won't go berserk if they disband. I just want to help as much as I can as a fan (without humiliating myself or the rest of SCANDAL fandom. I will just try to talk to them persistently, and nothing above that )
