this is my first time to experience this, lol.
how to claim it?
do i have to wait for a letter?

lucky you.. mine is stuck in customs, will pick it up on monday 
i got my notice just this morning, the EMS guy will personally hand the letter to you.(in my case) anyway to claim your item you need to go to there office in Pasay (near domestic airport) Details will be with the letter.
Of course to claim it, you'll need the notice card and 2 id's and money for the tax .wew. 
so yeah preferably wait for the notice card.

Mine got stuck in the customs, too. I find it weird because I ordered something that costed me around Php3,000+ (with shipping before) via EMS, and my item got delivered. 

It seems like most Pinoys who ordered the album with tshirt and got the free poster will have to get their orders from the customs. I have to wait for my notice card pa.

Agree. Maybe it's because the box is bigger than usual? CDJapan doesn't fold the posters, so I figure that the box is larger than usual.
I remember when I first experienced going to customs to claim a package, the inspectors commented on how packages from Japan are so well-presented. I'm not sure, but I really have a hunch that it's about the size of the package and not about its amount...

...or maybe because Christmas is just around the corner.

How much our Customs charge for the tax? I am actually planning to send my orders to the PH cause shipping cost to UAE is much more expensive and it always takes 2-3 weeks for the items to be delivered to me (via EMS) because Customs here is soooo strict (well, it's understandable; it's a Muslim country and what with the SCANDAL name and all haha) but I'm kind of reluctant after seeing you're having trouble with our Customs. Here in UAE, imports below 10,000 dirhams (roughly 120,000 php) are tax-free, whereas in the PH I think your purchases are below 10,000php yet they're charging you with tax. Or is it a random occasion only?

im not sure how much Standard will cost in tax(will update) but the charge is not random. usually there is a fix price of 50php whether or not its below 3k. adding even the weight the tax will cost even more. so my hunch is its going to be a couple of hundreds.

well. i got my Standard. LOL. a little tip if you're going to pick it up, make sure you do it early.  i arrived at 12 noon and waited for 3 hours. that branch of our government really is   anyway it costs around 1,098php. So ready your wallets.
Funny thing i even met a dad who is picking up the album for his kin. Also befriended a custom guy that can do everything and easily get my package if i order next time .evilgrin. 
Now i think ordering with someone is much better. At least that way shipping charge and custom tax can be split.

after getting lost for 30 minutes or so and waited for 3 hours i finally got mine, lol. my wallet cried, i paid 1300+ .fustrated. 
and i saw some who had "under the table" transactions .rage.

As for me, I paid Php1,104 plus Php50 (handling fee). 

Anyway, I'm just too happy that I finally got my album. At last.

Hi all! It's my first time to post on this thread.  

I was reading the previous posts, was not that surprised that some of the members were taxed unreasonably. I've heard a lot of misadventures from the customs before, it's really disappointing and sad that we can't do anything about it. Anyway, I just want to at least say something with regards to the matter at hand.

In my opinion it is really unfair since there seems to be no definite basis or concrete reason why they should withhold your goods. There should be some conditions that should apply along with explanations on why those occur because not all members have had their package stuck on customs. I even had 2 shipments from Japan and none of them got stuck anywhere.. only that I have to get them from the local post office but it's all well since I only got to pay 100PHP. (that is, 50PHP for each package) Seems like they seem to be randomly picking on some people's packages without any reason, hence why echu2012 seems to be wondering why her previous package amounting to 3,000+ got delivered without any qualm.

I just consider myself lucky that I didn't have to go to the customs but it's a pain that everyone should be lucky enough not to have their packages stuck in customs. Their operations are no doubt questionable!
