Does anyone know whether SCANDAL composed their songs on their own, or did they just write the lyrics?

There are some songs where one member composes a whole song...actually I think there's only 2. "Want You" which was composed by MAMI and "Emotion" by RINA.

Emotion and Want You are a good sign, however. Perhaps as they gain more experience they'll write more and more of their own songs.

Yes, it's a good tendency, that their own songs started to appear on singles. (Emotion on Pride, and then Want you on Haruka). I hope we will be able to listen to more their own songs in future. ^ ^

Almost all of there songs are written by Tomomi, and let me add, that Tomomi is a great great lyricists, one of my favorite is "Switch" which has a great meaning and every guy should now that song hehe..

and some of them are written by Haruna like there new song Haruka which is written by her..

and i think every album Mami also helps with some of the lyrics..

and Rina also writes songs, just like Emotion from there pride album..

I don't think we can say that she writes "almost all" of their songs, though. She's been involved in the lyrics of at least half of them, however, especially if we consider the ones credited to "SCANDAL".

Hmm... so Tomomi is the most active contributor among the girls. I've always thought she is the most talented musician in the band anyway. It's not easy at all to play the bass and sing at the same time. And she sings so well too.

Although they didn't write the music, I certainly hope that Mami at least came up with the guitar solos and intro riffs herself.

Does anyone know if Yuichi Tajika, Hidenori Tanaka, etc. are house musicians that work for Epic or freelance Japanese songwriters? Were they writing the music for Scandal prior to the band signing with Epic?

I think Playboy part I is written by Rina too.

I think that the music for "Harukaze" was composed by Noriyasu Isshiki, and the lyrics were written by Scandal and Noriyasu Isshiki.
