I believe the reason they took out the 'n' in scadalpony was to make it more balanced in name between the two bands.
Calling it SCANDALPONY sounds like it's just scandal with stereopony as a kind of attachment instead of 2 bands playing together.
It may not give both bands perfect equality in name but it at least sounds better than SCANPONY, STEREONDAL, etc.
Hope y'all get what I'm trying to say.
