The release of the [LOVE SURVIVE] and Kimi ni Shitto Chuu radio rips caused quite a strong reaction from some members here. Yeah, I guess for some of us the songs were not what we expected from the girls. Some loved it, others not so much. I believe however, that the two songs will grow on listeners.

Which got me thinking, what SCANDAL song didn't you like at first that became a favourite later?

I will start with Playboy Pt2. I hated that song for a long time. Then I saw it played live and I was sold immediately. I LOVE it now :D It kicks ***.

I didn't really like Ring, Ring, Ring and Anata ga Mawaru either at first. Then slowly, slowly I began to really get into both of them, especially after the FIRST LIVE DVD. Shoujo M didn't make a good first impression either but I really like it now. I imagine Mami's fake DJ console everyime I hear it now

Unfortunately, I STILL don't like Nanka Buttobase. I thought it was a terrible song and I still can't get into it. To be fair, I haven't watched a live version of it yet. Maybe it'll change my mind?

I think its their newest Single Love Survive it just isn't the SCANDAL I knew, I love Tomo but her voice just made the song sound like one made by a generic girl band....

I love all the other songs apart from Aitai... I skip it most of the time... used to skip Sayonara my friend but I quite like it now. I'm the opposite I quite like Nanka Buttobase Shoujo M I love but the one on the CD makes Mami sound fake??

"Yumemiru Tsubasa", I have the original by the 'Hillbilly Bops' so I listened with interest to Scandal's version.
At first I thought what have they done to it !
But then with each listen I liked it more, I now prefer it to the original.

Nanka Buttobase.

Lyrically, it's just not very good, and musically, it's not that good either. And the PV....was awful, to say the least.

Not a big fan of Want You either, too much distortion, although the sick guitar licks make up for it. Maboroshi Night took time to grow on me, but I do like it now.

Other than that, nope, can't say that SCANDAL have made any songs that thoroughly disappointed me, even Nanka I still listen to occasionally. Kimi no Shitto Chuu seems to be relatively uninteresting, but I hold back any and all judgement until I get a clean rip/real single. Love Survive seems good enough, and Hikare is shaping up to be one of my faves.

Biggest turnaround has to be Kimi to Yoru to Namida though. First few listens, I thought it was meh, now it's my second most played song in iTunes, with like...1300 listens? Yea, I like that song xD First song I translated with my own sweat and tears too.

Well it wasn't the reaction that was strong, but the argument that grew from it.

Mine is Koshi Tantan. I still don't really like it, but I like parts of it.

i dun like koshi tan tan and shining sun and shoujo M...shoujo M does not sound SCANDAL with the guitars...koshi tan tan sounds messy esp if they sing in concerts....(out of breath)....shining sun i believe nt many hear that song well as it sounds a very normal song...

i guess love survive u have to wait for clear version to hear their guitars...=) i gt a $1000 IEM to listen their songs! =D

While I do like every song they put out due to my inevitable fanboyism, I won't deny Nanka Buttobase took a while to grow on me. The song structure put me off quite a bit at first, it was just definitely not the kind of song I was used to hearing from SCANDAL. I also initially thought Shoujo M sounded reallllly weird, it took a while for me to really like the song.

Hmmmm...for me it's Natsu Neiro...i dunno, its not a bad song...i dunno why...i like the album, its just that...i can't explain it.

also, contrary to most, i loved SCANDAL Nanka Buttobase and Shoujo Mreally quickly..i just like MAMI's voice..XD

It's an alright song I guess...But I tend to skip over it. I don't know :| I just don't really like the song. xD I'm sort of liking it now but there are definitely other songs that I prefer to listen to over it.

For me "Anata ga Mawaru" and "Koshi tan tan".

At first I was like .deli. but then I .dance.

Sayonara my friend... When I listen it for first time I didn't like it... But now is one of my favorites songs .clap.

O and another one the shoujo S album... apart from Shoujo S and So easy Future and Natsu Neiro I'm won't play them purposely..

it is my first and favourite song, Shoujo S, which took time to grow on me. I wasn't really interested in that song, when first I heard it on Bleach opening. But as I continue watching bleach, I started to be addicted to that song.

Shojo M took some time with me, as well. Once I saw it live, I could not dislike it, anymore !

Nanka Buttobase is okay but the PV is ... trampy.

For me, it would have to be Shoujo M. IDK, I guess when TEMPTATION BOX came out and I found that one of the songs was titled Shoujo M, I was kind of expecting it to be more like a "sequel" to Shoujo S as far as the sound is concerned (I expected it to sound more rock-ish, like Shoujo S was). So I was surprised the first time I heard it. But listening to the album dozens of times after that, the song just naturally grew on me. And after seeing it performed live on the EVERYBODY SAY YEAH! live DVD, I loved it even more.

Midnight Television also took a long time for it to sink in. But after watching Loups=Garous and seeing how the song was used in the climax of the movie, I found myself listening to it afterwards and somehow I had a newfound "respect" for the song.

Scandal Cute! for me, at first I didnt even bother listening to it completely. But I gave it another chance and started to like it.

wow.. people really have diff. and contrasting tastes on music! but I'm happy that at least all of us like SCANDAL one way or another.. .clap.

(I just noticed this because I really really love SAKURA Goodbye and Midnight Television.. .whiteflag. )

Now on the topic at hand.. surprisingly at first I didn't really like Shoujo S. (Maybe because of the diff. arrangement from their songs prior?) But right now it's one of my fave. songs by them!

Another one (which coincides with some here) is Nanka Buttobase. It still doesn't belong to the top of my list but I kinda like it a little bit now.

Aside from that, I like all of their songs in general! .smile.

Interesting how music works, eh ? After a while, songs you "like" become songs you love, songs you love become songs you love even more, songs that were "meh" become songs you like, and songs you hated become tolerable...

at first i didn't like Ring Ring Ring and Hi-Hi-Hi but their live performances changed my opinion. some of the songs that i like the least are the best ones performed live.
i also didn't really like koshi tan tan but now i find it okay.

I personally like Shining Sun lol but Midnight Television not so much.

I personally don't like Houkago 1H until after listening to Tomo's live performance that I really like it now. Another one is Namida No Regret which is a completely different side of SCANDAL that I know and it took me until the release of the PV that I sort of like it now.

mhm Shoujo M took a long while to grow on me, it´s just so different, but it´s okay now .uhuh.
Maboroshi Night was also hard to get into , but now it´s one of my favorites!
Hi-Hi-Hi, it began to grow on me after seeing the live version of it, especially because of Tomo´s awesome bass solo .love.

Yumemiru i like the first verse but through the chorus don't like it anymore and it took me months to like it. hehehe

Anata ga Mawaru and Ring! Ring! Ring! same i didnt like it at first but when i watched the live instant live especially MAMI's solo

well i think Love Survive also but lately i get annoyed by TOMO's voice it's too high-pitched she should adjust her voice to fit that rockish song, i prefer HARU sing that song alone. peace! i just wait for the live performance of this

A bit of an update here re: Nanka Buttobase. Over the last week or so I've been trying to listen to it and I can now listen to it without cringing. As long as I stay away from the PV which was... which was... well, not very good.

It's a strange song and the syncopation is still jarring but it does have a nice solo in it and there are lots of things happening with the arrangement.

So I guess after so long, the song is beginning to sound pretty ok now..

i don't like all scandal songs for the first heard...
but when i saw the PV & Live , i directly lovin it by the cuteness of those girl...
i've inserted EVERYBODY SAY YEAH in my mobile a long ago... but i'm love it just a while ago, when their had Live , same goes with Taiyou Kimi ga Egaku STORY and so on...

so PV first , songs later


oh, DOLL is the only one songs that i don't need PV to Loves it... because my friend recommended it to me before...
