Well you should try reading World War Z then, it's written sort of like a series of post-war accounts regarding what survivors experienced after the zombie war. Really puts a human face on the apocalypse.

Caless StudentRecently: Patrick Rothfuss (Kingkiller's Chronicles), Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn), Terry Pratchett (Discworld).. I guess all fantasy.
I can't think of anything I really liked that wasn't fantasy or sci fi, but maybe I just forgot.

International PerformerOh yeah I read all of Dan Brown's books as well. I didn't feel the Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons were all that good, they only got famous due to the controversy it caused, I felt Digital Fortress was better. Oh well to each his own.

Bumping the thread because - get this - I've read books in the past week. Really rare for me XD
Funnily enough, I just finished reading World War Z; not really my style but it's a really good read. I also had a read of Tales from Ovid (translated; being able to read classical greek would be interesting indeed) and The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I also managed to finish a book I got a couple of years ago for my birthday called 'Evelina' by Frances Burney ... which ended happily XD and am thinking of moving onto Atonement, finally. Or Pride and Prejudice, which is long over due, and then Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. XDDD

International PerformerI just finished reading "The tale of Murasaki" by Liza Dalby.
It is the life story of Lady Murasaki Shikibu who wrote "Genji Monogatari"
( Tale of Genji )
It is based on her diary and poetry and is a wonderful romantic story of her life
but of course some of it is guesswork !
Liza Dalby has a huge knowledge of Japanese culture and is the only western woman to become a geisha, she was also a consultant to Steven Spielberg
on his film "Memoirs of a Geisha".

Right now, I'm trying to finish off Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings (1018 pages...). Still have Brent Weeks the Black Prism and Jim Butcher's Grave Peril in my pile plus several other books I've yet to touch.

Mainstream ArtistI'd occasionally read books from a Filipino author named "Bob Ong", and I'm pretty sure many Filipino members know his books. Other than that, I'm currently reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and other parodied books. Oh, and has anyone read Kokology before?
Yes. It is a manikin.

International PerformerI recently bought "Japanese schoolgirl confidential" by Brian Ashcraft and Shoko Ueda ( his wife ) from CDJapan and no it is not that kind of book !
They interviewed hundreds of girls all over Japan to write the book explaining why schoolgirls are such an important part of Japanese society.
They are a symbol of hope and purity in Japan which is why they are used to advertise everything from sweets to cars.
They are liked not only by men and schoolboys but women as well because they used to be schoolgirls themselves.
In the recession companies realized that the only people still spending just as much money were schoolgirls because it is not their money !
But many companies are too scared to try and sell to schoolgirls !
Bandai sold millions of tamagotchi toys to schoolgirls but then one girl decided they were not 'cool' any more and they were left with 2.5 million that nobody wanted !
They say the average schoolgirl carries 10,000 yen but my friend Mina in Niigata says that is way too low, she has a part time job and usually has around 50,000 yen on her as do her friends.
The book also has chapters on anime and manga and of course J-Pop,and there are interviews with AKB48, Jurian Beat Crisis and yes...Scandal !
I have to admit it does also contain pictures of schoolgirls !

International PerformerI like reading mystery, suspense, fantasy, horror and sci-fi books. I also read manga but online. I can't afford to buy so many volumes of manga.
The longest book i've read would probably have to be Stephen King's uncut edition of The Stand which was 1,000+ pages...in small print. The most recent book I finished was Full Dark, No Stars and it was really...dark(no pun intended). Even the author said it was hard for him to write some parts of the book.

I'm not a heavy reader but I do like to read. I have so many books and as I read one book; the stacks build up. XD Why don't we take photos of our bookshelves?:D
I like to read story that integrates genres such as fantasy, action, romance. Sometimes reality and crime; but they tend to take me a long time, and I mean a long time to read. The Lost Symbol bu Dan Brown took me three months to read due to how boring some sections were. XP
Currently reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
