I am working musician ..... and I TOTALLY ADMIRE Scandal girls
WHY ????
I discovered Scandal 2009, I found them by accident
on You Tube, via a Japanese TV show with “Perfume” (forgive me haha )on as guest, these four
girls were there too chatting to Perfume, they seemed so lively , copying
perfume dance routine, and I thought they were just a schoolgirl fan club of
Perfume (I don’t speak Japanese).
Looking one day later at a Girls from Japan
playing guitars (Promo video), I realized, “Hey that’s those schoolgirls from
Perfume interview show”. I checked out a You-tube by this band Scandal??? As
soon as the live show opened for Best/One-man Live tour, and they hit the
stage, hit those big chords, bass and drum pounding it out, the crowd chanting
along with encouragement, then Haruna yells out something and they go into the
“Space-ranger” riff....I WAS GONE. Sat there, like an mesmorised idiot watching
with my jaw on the floor for almost the entire song, then at the end of the
song they powered to the finish with the closing chant... WHAT THE F&**#
!!!! : 0
....... I was HOOKED!! I sat there for hours playing everything I could
find by them live. All songs one One–man Live Tour clips were great too. Now,
in 2012, they have conquered Budokan.
UNBELIEVABLE little “Rock-girl Ninjas” they are. Someone
should make a film about them. They are sensational!!! There will be no band
anywhere on the planet as cute AND talented as Scandal...EVER! If they make a
movie about these girls in the years to come and release English, Spanish and
French language versions it would have to be a worldwide hit. To my friends who
tell me they are a gimmick band I just ask them, “Name ONE all-female rock
band, anywhere in the world from any era, that can play complex pop/rock songs
so well, sing well and perform a great show to large crowds? “ You can’t?
That’s because there isn’t one.
ONLY CONCLUSION : Scandal are without a doubt
the best Girl Band in history of this planet!
Later I went on to then discover Gacharic Spin, an all
girl band, again playing their instruments astoundingly well live. These
ferocious J-girl musicians ROCK severely well!!!!!! They have just re-branded
as DOLL$BOXX. Hmmm…
Flip is another great girl band, nothing candy pop about that.
these girls, real attitude, good strong players, powerful songs, great dynamics
and energy plus live shows that continually amaze me. The singer is one tough
little cookie, funky as hell and rocks it out full on, but then can turn around
and sing a ballad with chorus in English, like “Butterfly”, that’ll bring you
tears.
Btw I went to Tokyo last year, and I had the absolute
honour of seeing "Winnie" live. They sing all songs in English,
3-part harmonies, again ferocious tight players, and a captivating female
singer guitarist playing a polka-dot Gibson flying v guitar. They have melodies
and harmonies that will make you weep they are so beautifully constructed, and
I might add, performed perfectly live too. Their gig in Shimo blew me away.
Again my jaw was on the ground, and they were the “opening act”…
Give-me-a-break!

I feel you bro.. I'm a band member too.. and i can say that scandal is the only "all girl band" that can dynamically sing pop and rock songs without making it look bad for themselves..
Its safe to say to that they're music makes you feel good after listening to them.. :D
