What happens when 4 life long friends form one ofthe best bands in all of Japan?
You get SHAKA LABBITS!
I first heard them back in 2003 when I was surfing the net and heard their song "Monster TRee" by accientally clikcing a link. I was immediately hooked. A great J-Punk/Pop quartet with some SKA influences, though they have shown their creative side with accoustic and country fused songs as well as covering some American tracks like the theme to the Tom Hanks film "That ThingYou Do" and Suzy Quatro's "Wild One". In 2008 they played Canada and I, of course, totally missed it.
10 years strong and poutting a new record out whenever they are not on tour (which is like all the time!), do give a listen and I think the music of UKI, KING, MAH and TAKE-C will hook you as sure as it did me!
SHAKA LABBITS - Monster Tree
SHAKA LABBITS - The Pitchfork Diaries
SHAKA LABBITS - Pobby to Dingan
SHAKA LABBITS - G.S.G (Groove Shaka Groove)
SHAKA LABBITS - g.s.g (groove shaka groove Accoustic)
