Adding to that, she said she's probably not going to be on anymore music programs...But she's doing really well with her modeling and her fashion brand Ricori, so I feel like I won't need to worry about her choice on graduating. I'm happy for her
same with me everytime I'm listening to Ue Kara Mariko.. it's making me depress and sad.. hate to see her leave AKB but well it's her decision.. good thing she still got her in the fashion industry~ I'm really happy for her~ Hoping for the best in her career in the future
There has been a lot of rubbish written about AKB and being I have been a fan for 7 years I would just like to give my opinion, but it is only my opinion of course.
Some people are put off by the size of AKB, there have been around 300 members since 2005 and around 600 songs but you can get involved as much or as little as you like. A guy told me the other day I am not a 'true' fan as I cannot name the centre ( main singer ) in all 536 songs and my reply was "Get a life" !
If you just want to enjoy their music and have a few favourite members that is fine, you dont have to know all 87 members and of course there is also SKE48, NMB48, HKT48 and two foreign 'sister' 48's, JKT48 and SNH48.
I totally agree tony ! Personally, I'm just a "newbie" fan, I watch some PVs and I've some favorite members (Mayu ^^ and now Haruna Kojima thanks to Sensai Steve hehe).
A guy told me the other day I am not a 'true' fan as I cannot name the centre ( main singer ) in all 536 songs and my reply was "Get a life" !
we're supposed to be some kind of Terminator to remember all names, this guy has a serious problem.
@tony - I agree, you don't have to know everything about AKB to be a fan. I'm pretty sure even the most hardcore fans don't know EVERYTHING and I know some people who just like the songs and don't really care much for the members...plus it's hard to remember/ memorize foreign names. @topic Mariko's lat theatre performance will be this Sunday - July 21st and will be graduating the 22nd.
Also, the 1st Dome Concert has ended (There was no live stream - just word of mouth from several people who went to the dome concert) Special announcements:
HKT48's 2ndsingle will be coming out in September - "Melon Juice" with the following members: Team H: Kodama Haruka, Miyawaki Sakura, Matsuoka Natsumi, Anai Chihiro, Oota Aika, Sashihara Rino, Murashige Anna, Matsumura Aoi, Moriyasu Madoka KKS: Akiyoshi Yuka, Tashima Meru, Tomonaga Mio, Okada Kanna, Okamoto Naoko, Tani Marika, Fuchigami Mai

The PV for Koisuru Fortune Cookie (KFC) was shown at the Dome Live.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Theatre Edition At the Dome Concert, Mariko appointed Yokoyama Yui (my 2-oshi) as the official new Team A Captain.
During Mariko's speech, she said "...I will appoint the captain who will take over me. The new Team A captain is Yokoyama Yui. If it is Yui, it will be fine..."
From Yui-han's G+:
Shinoda-san, congratulations on your graduation! Tomorrow's theater performance of Team A will be really be the last, see you tomorrow.
It was really beautiful
Also, Shinoda-san appointed me to Team A. Yokoyama Team A. It sounds unfamiliar.
With the General Manager Takamina, I hope that i can make a more wonderful team together with everyone in Team A.
From now on, please take care of Yokoyama Team A and the AKB48 group!!
My prediction of Yui being new Team A captain came true! Although there are a lot of hard-working people in Team A, I thought she would probably be the best candidate since she is like the glue for the younger gens (especially the ones that got moved from Team 4) and the older gens. Also, it was Yui-han that took her time to teach Mariko a lot of the choreography when Mariko was too busy with other work to go to rehearsals.
lool~ after Mariko-sama's last perf as an AKB member I think my world just collapse a bit~ and somehow I just got recovered.. HAHAHA!! anyway.. can't wait for HKT's new single~ and I somehow predicted that single would be related to Melons.. which just happened
and about Team A's new captain, Yuihan~ uwahh~ somehow my predictions went true too! I'm happy for her
Looking forward to Yokoyama Team A! ^_^
as for Koisuru's Album Covers.. I like the theater ver.. all of them look so dazzling gorgeous~ (especially Yukirin) HAHAHA!! such a bias~ ^^v
AKB48 - Koisuru Fortune Cookie (Radio Rip) I like the full version of the song so much better than what they've been singing on music programs. You can listen to it in the link below. Credits to 48caramujo. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
edit: apparently, the theatre edition cover of the CD I posted wasn't the theatre edition. It is actually this one: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] update from Sapporo Dome:
The new KKS subunit composed of the popular KKS members of the 48 groups is called "TentoumuChu!" I'm guessing it's a cross between Tentoumushi (Ladybug) and Chu (kiss) Their single will be called "Kimi Dake ni Chu! Chu! Chu!" (Kisses for only you)
Also, Acchan's new single called "Time Machine Nante Iranai" (I don't need a Time Machine) will be released on September 18th. It has the "Kimi wa Boku da" feel to it. Here's a little live recording of it: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
EDIT: Here's a radio rip of Acchan's song [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY AKB48 THAT THE FORMATION OF SPR48 IN 2015 HAS BEEN FALSE AND WAS ALL A RUMOR CREATED BY THE MEDIA. THIS WAS ANNOUNCED BY TAKAMINA AT THE SAPPORO DOME CONCERT. A translation of what she said: “… the rumor was formed by the media, but currently there are no plans [for SPR48.]” she continued “This is a step towards that dream here at Sapporo Dome today,” she continued “.. there is a dream of starting this in the future, but wait for us.” [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Togasaki also stated: "We don't have any concrete plans yet, contrary to the repor t that said SPR48 will debut in 2015. We are working on getting more Hokkaido fans and set up SPR48 with a theatre there one day though. Thank you for your continued support.
-That's a bummer. It would've been cool to have another 48 group, but I guess the AKB fan base isn't as big in Hokkaido to invest in another 48 group there yet...but it's still possible in the future. Kondo Koso Ecstacy - Next Girls This is the coupling song for Koisuru Fortune Cookie Type A Here's a radio rip of it: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Sae-chan got caught in a scandal It says that Fukasawa Tatsuya, a member from a Johnny's Jr. unit called "Snow Man" was staying overnight at Sae-chan's house. This might be serious. I really hope nothing seriously bad happens to Sae-chan.
on a different note, it was rumored that Sayanee was having a love affair with ONE OK ROCK's singer, Taka, but Sayanee denied it and reported it to the staff. She even said that she's never even met him before on her blog, and she took the rumor lightheartedly, even saying that the rumors have gotten her more attention... so the rumor was completely blown off and nothing happened. Thank goodness.
Also, HKT48's KKS will be having a live performance on YouTube with the Party ga Hajimaru yo Stage performance. The video has a countdown so you know when it will start where you live.
@ceej - if that's the case, I'm glad it was only her brother :D I also LOLed at the sayanee x taka one. I kinda wonder how the tabloids came up with that story. XD
Like many AKB fans I am really mad about this guy, the Japanese comedian Koji Kato. He has been throwing young girls about just for fun since 2001 and it is NOT funny ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The part with Takamina was even worse, she threw her onto her back and she could not move for a few minutes but Takamina is not as popular as Mayuyu. Years ago Natsu from Morning Musume kicked him in just the right place !
I am mad that I was also fooled by the SPR48 story ! But even with the lie and having Acchan on the bill they still could not fill the seats in the Sapporo Dome !
But on a lighter side I am really getting to like SNH48 and my oshi is Dong ZhiYi
It's too much that kind of behaviour for a TV host. I know that you can do funny things and stuff like that, but a kick like that (and the others things that he did to others members) ...
You can't mess with their physical health and I think that is very disgraceful, it's simple for me : you CAN'T do that to a girl !
Here's a twist to the SPR story: What if AKB's management decided not to start SPR48 last minute because there wasn't enough people to fill the seats to prove to them that the Sapporo people like AKB? ...and that's why they said they don't have plans for it now, but maybe in the future???
rant on Kato Koji x AKB show:
This is to kinda clear up both sides - Kato and AKB
yes, he did go a little too far on this one and kicked mayuyu in the face dropped people on the ground and stuff, but that's Japanese entertainment for ya. Think about all the times the girls have been hit in AKBingo though. Like that one time Takamina was swung around by a Pro wrestler during muchaburi dodgeball and then she was dropped on the ground or when girls have been hit on the head for making "dumb" comments. Now I'm not trying to defend violence in Japanese shows, but it is what it is...
Also, Kato said to AKB during the show "For an idol group, you guys are willing to go far!" and the family members said "You're gonna get killed by the fans" and Kato said something about an incident with a fan. I don't really remember what he said, but it involved Kato holding a manga to his stomach so he didn't get hurt. He even apologized after the 1st time AKB was on the show after getting a lot of negative feedback from AKB fans. I don't know if he apologized for the 2nd time...
Also Mayuyu said this on her blog: "Yesterday's 27 hour TV made me very happy. It was like opening doors to a new world (laughs). During the program, I was kicked in the face, but I'm totally OK. Thank you for your concerns. This is one of my most special memories of the summer!" Also, if you guys remember, fans got mad at the first one they did. But AKB came back for the 2nd time. If AKB didn't like what they were doing, I'm pretty sure management wouldn't have allowed for a 2nd time on the show. IDK. To me it looked like they were having fun for the most part. I feel like if I were them, I would want people to laugh since it's a comedy show. I wouldn't want to get bad reactions after I put in a lot of work and some pain trying to make comedy. Otherwise, it would feel like I did it for nothing.
Also did you notice that some members didn't get swung? like Yui-han and Sayanee? A lot of Japanese shows are scripted or ad-libbed, so I think the members who didn't want to participate may have told them ahead of time. If that weren't true, they were smart enough not to say anything that would trigger Kato to swing them and stuff.
Sorry for the long post, and I'll probably end up regretting it...but I just felt like I needed to say this because I keep seeing people saying the same exact things you guys are saying and I feel like I'm gonna explode...
on a different note, The Team Surprise song "Dessan" with Takamina and Sasshi sounds great! It's a nice mellow track and their voices blend so well together.
If AKB didn't like what they were doing, I'm pretty sure management wouldn't have allowed for a 2nd time on the show.
That's what I was thinking after. Glad to see that Mayu is okay. At first, I thought that the TV host had gone too far (in a unscripted way), because I don't know the show.
There's a new AKB song called "Mienai Sora wa Itsudemo Aoi" with Yokoyama Yui as center. The song starts at 0:50. The song is for Yui-han because she was awarded a pharmaceutical certificate for completing the Challenge U-CAN in July. The members singing in the song are Yui, Takamina, Yuko, Mariko, Tomochin, Paruru, Mayuyu, Yukirin, and Kitarie, but since Mariko graduated and Tomochin will graduate, Kojiharu and Kawaeii Rina will take their place. It is not known yet where this song will be released, but it will be in a CM sometime in mid-August.
@yoshi: thanks for the explanation of what happened on that TV Show now I'm all clear with it~ never thought Mayu would say that she enjoyed that show XD
that's my girl.. well looks like that was totally scripted after all.. the girl didn't mind at all.. and they enjoyed it actually~ HAHAHA! That's Japanese Entertainment after all.. I just gotta get used to it
and about the Team Surprise song "Dessan" with Takamina and Sasshi.. I really like it almost all of Team Surprise's songs I like all of them XD
and congrats to Yuihan for the new song~ she totally earn big this year ^^
I always read your posts with interest and I know that everyone on this thread is an AKB fan but the thread is also here for discussion. I am not a fanatical AKB fan and I know you are not either and I wish no harm to Koji Kato. I know that because of the huge pressure to conform in Japanese society TV shows where people are humiliated are very popular and allow people to let off steam. Did you see the one where people enter a mobile toilet only to be raised to the roof so everyone can see them ? We would probably die of shame, but the audience loved it !
Of course there is loads of slapstick comedy in the AKBingo shows and they make me laugh out loud and obviously nobody is really hurt. But a show where a comedian has been throwing young girls about since 2001 just does not make me laugh, but then I am not Japanese. I asked several members how they would feel if it was Rina or Haruna being thrown about or sat on and they said they would be horrified but SCANDAL would not be on a show like that.
That is my point, SCANDAL have a choice, Japanese idols do not ! Someone even said it is OK to throw AKB about because they are idols ! They are young girls, not objects to be thrown about for people's amusement by some guy with a Hitler moustache. Of course they have some choice, like Acchan did not do meet and greets towards the end because of the unwelcome attention she used to get and Takamina is rarely made to do gravure shots because everyone knows she hates them, but compared to SCANDAL they have to do what they are told.
I asked a few Japanese friends for their opinion and they said they were not offended by the show ( they are not AKB fans though ) but at the same time they did not find young girls being thrown about and having their underwear exposed funny. A friend in the Tokyo Police said they have warned Koji Kato that he could now be in real danger !
@tony - Thanks Tony. I totally see what you mean. And I definitely do not think it is ok to throw anyone around unless the person is totally willing to do it. For all we know, Mayuyu could have lied to her fans to comfort them or then again, maybe she genuinely did enjoy it...who knows? It really does suck that people get hurt for the sake of comedy. Like if you've ever seen the Gaki no Tsukai's "Do not laugh" series where if they laughed, they would get hit. I guess we live in a society where sometimes people getting hurt = humor like Tom & Jerry, Looney Toons, The Jacka*s movie series, faceplant videos, there are tons of YouTube videos of people pulling crazy pranks on each other, or people accidentally getting hurt, etc that make people laugh. Even in situations like if a friend accidentally walks face first into a pole or something people tend to laugh, but of course they usually ask if they are ok.
sorry if anything that I say sounds like an angry rant or something. I'm totally on AKB's side and I am always concerned about their well-being like when Jurina had to be hospitalized for over-working herself or when members pass out from over-working or members twisting their ankles, etc. Sure, I was worried that they might hit their head or mess up their neck, especially since the show was live, but the show didn't really seem like a huge deal to me, because in the end, no one was seriously injured... but I guess that's just my opinion...(I've personally been thrown around on tatami back when I was about 13 with no major or minor injuries...but then maybe it's because I'm a dude and I can handle it...)
**sidenote: As I said, there are a lot of shows in Japan that are staged. The portable toilet prank in Japan was a staged prank. They had actors who were willing to do it. In Japan, censorship is pretty important, so if it were a real prank, the TV station would have to get permission from these people to put them on TV and even if they did have permission, they would probably have to at least blur out these people's faces. But if it really were a real prank, that show most likely would have never aired on TV because that would be invasion of privacy and would be illegal. Also, violence in general is illegal...If any of the AKB's members were injured, Kato could could be put on trial or go to prison for domestic violence... @topic - on a different note: The team shuffle will be done differently this year. It was announced on the 2nd day of the Kyocera Dome tour that on November 10th, AKB48 will have a draft meeting where Team Captains get to pick members of their team. I'm not sure if concurrent members will be involved... more info later.

Hi there everybody! I'm always late:tsk: ...but thankfully i joined to the thread! So please treat me well LOL About that guy katou...well,i know he did it because it's "funny" for the audience to see that kind of jokes.....(not for me though) However, the girls just can't refuse to appear on that programs! At least mayuyu is not at the hospital lol
More info on the draft: Candidates from AKB, SKE, NMB, and HKT will start signing up to be a candidate for the draft in September and these candidates will be put through a series of auditions. The final candidates will be presented to the team captains from Team A, K, B, S, KII, E, N, M, BII, and H, who get to choose the candidates for their team Just like a baseball draft, the members cannot choose where to go (geographically). The candidates can either accept or decline the offer to be on that team. If they accept, they become a KKS of that team. This draft will take place at the Grand Prince New Takanawa, which is where they draft baseball players in Japan. Management has started coming up with rules and guidelines for the draft. The captains, group managers, and the general managers have already begun discussing what kind of candidates the team captains would want in their teams. For example, candidates who are good at dancing, MCing, young members, members who are memorable, etc. They are hoping this event will be comparable to the General Elections and the Janken Tournament. Captains: AKB48 - Team A - Yokoyama Yui, Team K - Oshima Yuko, Team B - Umeda Ayaka SKE48- Team S - Nakanishi Yuka, Team KII - Takayanagi Akane, Team E - Matsui Rena NMB48 - Team N - Yamamoto Sayaka, Team M - Shimada Rena, Team BII - Kamieda Emika HKT48 - Team H - Anai Chihiro At this moment I'm not sure how Takamina, being the General Director of all groups, will fit into this or how Sasshi, the general manager of HKT will fit either. I don't even know if the KKS can participate. Right now, the information is kinda confusing, but these groups will most likely not be permanent. Apparently, there will be more information coming later, so we'll just have to wait for that. ...so I'm guess it will be like a lot of concurrent members compared to 2 or 3 in each group. And I'm guessing songs from these new groups will probably end up in the Janken tournament single's B-sides. Here is the link to the draft video if you want to see it: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Here's the media's explanation for the draft
Also, if anyone cares, Mayuyu got a haircut (look at 0:39) Also HKT's new song Melon Juice at 0:58
another Team Shuffle yet a different process.. this is interesting~ and once again I don't know how to react on this~ what kind of a surprise is this XD
I'm already used to the recent Teams~ *sigh* (especially Team B) ><;
HKT48 Cover art for "Melon Juice" [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I really like the way these covers came out. They look really nice.
I did not take HKT48 seriously until recently but they have got better and better. I especially like Haruppi ( Haruka Kodama ) and the mad Russian ( Anna Murashige )
