But there is talk of Mariko Shinoda leaving as she was born in 1986, so she is pretty old for AKB48.

But Acchan was born in 1991.

I heard that the average age of AKB48-members is 18-23. So I guess 1991 is still suitable ;D

In Japan many people ( especially women ! ) have a dubious opinion of Yasushi Akimoto the founder of AKB48.
He started way back in the 1980's with 'Onyanko club' ( Kitty cat club ) and their logo was a cat bending over showing it's underwear !
Their first record written by Akimoto was "Dont make me take off my sailor suit", which I still have !
Thiry years later he produced the "Heavy rotation" PV where AKB48 seem to have lost their clothes !

He now has AKB48, SKE48, SDN48, NMB48 and Taiwan 48 is being started this summer, that is a lot of young girls !
But then nobody is forced to join and the girls do get to be very famous.
Prime Minister Naoto Kan recently sadly said he wished he was as popular as AKB48 !

He said he realized how popular schoolgirls are in Japan, everybody likes them, not just men but also women, girls and old people !
Does anyone know how much the girls get paid ?
I know they have to work very hard and are not allowed to have boyfriends.
But a friend at CDJapan said it is not they are not allowed to have boyfriends, they must not be caught having boyfriends !

i'm a big fans of AKB48 my favorite member is acchan ( maeda atsuko )

i almost know all their member i'ts not difficult to remeber their name

I am a big fan as well and I know most of their names.

I started watching SKE48 but I thought I cannot remember another 48 names !

But Jurina Matsui seems to be in AKB48 and SKE48 !

If I am not mistaken, their contracts prohibits them from having a boyfriend. Else it is VERY damaging to their own image and the overall image of the group.

And yes, their popularity is very widespread, just like Arashi. Having covered their concert in last AFA X and the recent SG Theater, their fanbase varies from teens to little boys & girls and even their parents!

Japanese show-business is so... Young girls are not allowed to have boyfriends.. It's a bit cruelly, don't you think so?

Some people would think it is a small price to pay for being famous.

But rules are made to be broken and there are Japanese guys who
claim to have dated members of AKB48 , but that does not mean it
is true of course !

The secondhand shake was better compared to the first, We get to actually talk with them for as long as 20+secs compared to the first which was a good experience.
