International Performeri dont care what anyone says MAMI is a very good talented guitar player in my opinion not the best but thats not what matters she gives passion into it and you can tell she enjoys playing the guitar alot and has fun with it and makes her fans proud and the the aweosme band SCANDAL should be very proud of themselves all 4 of them are very lucky to be where they are in life. all of them are very beautiful, full of talent, very sweet, and have great lifes. Im so proud of SCANDAL and i hope they will enjoy theyre lifes no matter what cause i know they will have a bright future to look forward too and all of theyre fans love them and thats another good thing about SCANDAL they take pride into theyre fans and show respect to us unlike most other bands who only care about the money. Cheers to SCANDAL and theyre excellent talented work. WE LOVE YOU SCANDAL!!!! SCANDAL FOREVER....

Indie Artistfor me she's already a better guitarist.. i really like her presence to when playing the guitar. sometimes during their lives, i only stare at her playing the guitar. it can still make me go "wow! go Mami!!! "

Indie ArtistI think Mami actually uses this riff in the solo of Want You. Interesting how she incorporated stuff she learned.L wrote:I spotted Mami playing with Nomura Yoshio.
I think she does a good job and plays rather well.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand, Mami has definitely improved. Her solo in Doll sounds a bit off, even in the studio version, and her solos on the band's indie songs were rather simplistic. That doesn't mean bad, of course; I love their old indie sound. But then on the same album, Scandal Baby, her solos already improved rather dramatically, like in Anata ga Mawaru and Ring Ring Ring, as others mentioned earlier. And she's only gotten better since then.
Having only played bass intermittently for less than a year, I can't comment much about the technical aspects of guitar playing. To me, as long as her playing fits in with the songs, I'm happy.

International PerformerIn my opinion, she has improved since the bands indie days and I think her guitar skills are enough for SCANDAL's songs. Although, I think she gets too stiff during her performances or just over thinks things and that's probably why she is a bit sloppy sometimes. Since Mami doesn't compose the songs (aside from 'Want You'), she doesn't really get a chance to show us HER full skills, she just plays what someone else composed. If I saw her playing free-style more often, I could probably form a better opinion. As for stage presence, I feel like she stands out more than she did in SCANDAL's indie days, but she still tends to stand there and stare at her guitar sometimes. I think it mainly happens during solos and riffs but to me that's understandable. If I were in her place, I wouldn't want to risk messing up.

Mamitasu really improved on playing guitar. Well, is it enough? Currently, I think her guitar skills are above average. Leaving some or maybe, a huge room for improvement. But that doesn't make her a bad guitarist. As long as she can play her stuffs and leave our hearts beating faster as she strum and plays all the catchy licks live. Well, I'm pretty sure her smile can melt my heart and her guitar playing can make it come back to life. That's all that matters and that's all Mami needs.

Ahh..Mami.. For me, her skill is more than enough. It fits with SCANDAL songs. And certainly she improved a lot more better than the old days..I love how she played her lead part while singing along with Haruna or Tomomi. Well, that acquire enough guitar skill considering that Mami sang a different note than Haruna/Tomomi..If she didn't have enough guitar skill, she'll end up messing her lead guitar part while doing backing vocals..
My favorite songs that show her guitar skills part are Anata Ga Mawaru's solo, Love Survive's catchy intro, Harukaze's solo, Alones solo, Aitai's solo, Rock N' Roll Widow's solo, Roppongi Shinjuu's solo, Appletachi Dengon's doodle, and lots more..
Rock On, Mami!
