First real anime would probably be Saint Seiya for me, the main storyline ending with Neptune's saga I think, I haven't watched any of the new OVAs though.

Those are all anime that I used to watch as a kid in Québec. I mentioned Grendizer but watched all those. In addition to many others _also_ from Japan. For some reason, the late 70s and early 80s were chock full of Japanese anime both in France and Québec.

First anime for me would most prolly be Evangelion, watched together with my elder brother. However, I did not understand much of it especially the ending as I was still quite young then.
