Yup, I realized that and I agree with you. Maybe it's just..what u call it?gimmick?..or just to gave some impact to the viewers. (japanese people call it impact, i guess).
It could be props only, but for Mami's case, it may possible. When I compare to the set she used on Virgin Hall, she may expand it a lil' bit more for Budokan. But not as that much, I guess (six is too way much...). Paul Gilbert use only 3 head-cab when Mr.Big had their concert in Budokan..^_^v..
If Mami use the set (6-cab) for tour purpose, it would be troublesome..

But somehow, I feel it would be cool!! When Mami stood in the front of her hugeee amps and play her guitar, she would rawwwwkkkk!!..

But why they gave Haruna a smaller cab?..Errrr, imo. I think cause they really want to show that Japanese brand (Shinos), could do more with only one cab rather than others...hehehehe, cmiiw.

@jigoku79 I was about to comment on the excessive number of head/cabs in the PV preview but someone already beat me to it I agree, Mami might use more than 1 head. In fact, in your blog I think you did put up an article about her using three head/cabs. And I also agree, that it would be awesome if the girls played in front of a wall of Marshall cabs! :D

Re: Haru's Shinos combo amp; it might be personal taste I guess. I know some guitarists prefer smaller and lower power pre/power amps to get a particular type of tone. I guess it's logical that she use a smaller amp since her rhythm parts are usually quite subdued. She don't need much head room for most of it. From reading your blog, I think you already know these things

Btw, off topic but nice work on the tranlations on your blog especially the gear info. I enjoyed reading it and found out a lot of new stuff. Keep it up!

Why did Haruna get the shortest? Because she's the shortest. haha just kidding.

Since the song isn't recorded during PV's, I think the extra cabinets and amps are there just for show, like in Stereopony's 'I do it' PV.

For others gear such as Mami's Jazzmaster, Maranello, and Tomo's Coronado, I try to search on other sites, cause it's really hard to find..
But, regarding Haruna Shinos amp, I found out that it was handmade amp made in Japan. It was a high quality amps, I guess. Maybe, just maybe she felt more confidence with only one cab..^_^v

And yeah, I agree for that reason. It might be personal taste matter. She once tried the Strat, but somehow she couldn't manage it and didn't like the sound. And Tele was the right choice to pick for rhythm guitar and it just fit with Shinos amp..and I forgot that she was endorsed by Shinos, so she couldn't use other brands, I guess.
But I would like to hear more of Haruna's Tele sound, if only she use larger amp..(i love Tele, i love how it sounds, though I didn't have one..^_^)

Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate you digging around for them. I'm a gear freak myself and love reading about gear people use (esp SCANDAL's). That Fender Coronado is of great interest to me. How did Tomo get it? Is it hers? Borrowed? Leased/rented? I know it's quite rare and Fender stopped making them in 1972.

I LOVE Teles too. One of these days, I will buy one. But a boutique amp like Haru's will have to wait... hehe..

EDIT: You know what I would like to hear? I want to hear Haru do a SOLO on her 72 Thinline Deluxe in all of it's twangy glory! They really should do Ring Ring Ring live again, but with Haru doing the solo instead of Mami :D

Yup, Tomo bought the coronado. I found the info on scandal scanned magazine (go!go! guitars!) on this site: http://ameblo.jp/su2009/, the font are quite small, so I couldn't read it clearly. All I know she named it Koro-tasu. Love the vintage sound of it, soothing..!
(If anyone could provide the link for larger version of this magazine, I would like to dig it more..!!)
Haruna did a solo on the zepp concert DVD, wasn't she?She did a harmonic solo with Mami on Switch's song bridge..It makes the song more colourful, and I love the live version more!
And on the song Hello Hello! I just realized she had a good power chord..!!

(note: I'm a fans of Slipknot and SCANDAL, and one thing that linked between both of them is Tele's!Haruna use it for rhythm, and Jim Root for melody!..Haruna once use orange amp, and Jim too!I love both of them..yayy!)

Nice find. I'm both looking forward AND dreading this at the same time. Will it be MAMI's sig guitar? Or HARU's? This could potentially be bad for my wallet...

See, I'm looking out for a Tele in the near future. I love 'em and want to have one.

If HARU's sig guitar happens to be a Tele then.... there goes all my money again... I really hope it won't be TOO crazy expensive..

But it's really awesome if J-Fender really go through with this. Having a signature guitar issued for you means you've made it..

Yeah, it's a shame that it's not hers. Tele Blacktops are nice guitars, sounds great, still Tele tone but fatter and more output and no noise.

I wonder what pickup config does Haru like. If her sig guitar turns out to be a dual hum thinline with separate vol and tone pots I will go INSANE! Hahaha...
