How to purchase a ticket to watch SCANDAL “Documentary film MIRROR”SCANDAL's upcoming documentary about their
MIRROR world tour will be streaming on a Japanese streaming platform starting from November 26th. Here is a guide on how to purchase a ticket to watch it if you're located outside of Japan!
You will need to register for two accounts:
•U-NEXT
•Amazon Japan
Optional:
•Tenso
First, you'll need to set up a U-NEXT account. Go to
this page. Click the blue button and then copy the generated gift code.
Next, go to
this page and click the first blue button (the one that says "はじめてご利用の方").
It'll direct you to the page as pictured below. Paste your code into the box and then click the blue button under it (the one that says "次へ").
It'll direct you to the page as pictured below. Paste your code in the first box, then fill out the rest of the boxes. Translations for what each box wants you to input can be found in the below image. Once everything is filled out, click the blue button at the bottom (the one that says "送信").
It'll then show you a confirmation of the info you entered. If everything's correct, click the blue button at the bottom (the one that says "送信").
If your account has successfully been registered, it'll direct you to this page that says so. Next, click the link that says "ホーム" to be directed to the U-NEXT site.
Next, you will need a Tenso account--or at least an address located in Japan.
If you don't already have a Tenso account and want to register for one, go
here.
If you don't want to sign up for account, they have their address publicly listed
here that you can use.
Once you have your Japan address, register for an Amazon Japan account by going to this page
here and inputting the Japanese address and phone number provided to you by Tenso. Here is how you input that info.
The address you input must be located in Japan, and also written in Japanese characters. You must also set this as your default address. You will NOT be able to purchase the gift cards if you input any overseas addresses, or have any overseas addresses listed in your account!Next, go to
this page and add a quantity of
THREE U-NEXT gift cards to your cart. You need to buy 3 since each gift card is worth 1,200 yen/points each (total of 3,600), and SCANDAL's documentary costs 3,300 yen/points.
After adding 3 to your cart, go to check out. Input your credit card info and place your order.
If for some reason it says it "cannot be shipped to your location," that means that you need to delete and reinput the address. Again, you cannot have an overseas address listed at all; if you do, you must delete them in order for the order to go through. Make sure you have correctly input the Tenso address located in Japan, and that it's written in Japanese.A few minutes after placing your order, you will receive an email saying that the codes are ready. Click on the link sent to you (the yellow box that says "コンテンツにアクセス"), and then click on where it says "View your item."
It will show you a list of codes to redeem. Copy down your codes.
Next, go to
this page on U-NEXT and click on the second blue button (the one that says "U-NEXTアカウントをお持ちの方").
Paste your first code into the box and then click the blue button under it (the one that says "次へ").
Forgot to take screenshots for these next few steps, but it will show you the details of the code and how many points it's worth. Click on the blue button at the bottom to add it to your account.
Once it is added, go back to
this page and repeat the same steps to add the 2 remaining codes to your account.
After adding all 3 of your codes, you'll need to jump on a Japan VPN. For me, the free
SoftEther VPN program worked just fine. You can also use paid VPNs such as
Nord.
Once you're connected to a Japan VPN, go to
the documentary page and click the gray button on the right that says "チケットを購入".
The next screen will show the documentary price and then a "-3,300ポイント (points)" right under it, indicating that 3,300 points will be taken out of the amount you added to your account. Click on the blue button under that that says "0円で購入" to complete your purchase.
You can confirm your purchase by clicking on the "購入済み" text on the left side, and then clicking on the "ライブ配信" text. You're now all set!
The documentary will start streaming from
Saturday, November 26th @ 7 pm JST.
Here is a time zone converter for that. VOD will be available until
Saturday, December 3rd, 11:59 pm JST.
Also,
you will need to use a Japan VPN in order to watch the stream when it's up!And unfortunately, as you can see, you do have to jump through many hoops in order to watch this documentary if you're located outside of Japan.
That said, if nothing else is announced later,
I will try to do subs for the documentary after the VOD period ends. But in order to see those, you'll have to send me proof that you purchased access to documentary via the steps I listed. At least then it'd be more worth it to go through all of that trouble!
Edit: I'll officially confirm that I will be doing subs for this! You'll need to provide proof that you've purchased access to the documentary in order to view them. Will post more info on that soon!
