tricot is a Japanese alternative rock band formed in historical and
cultural city Kyoto in September 1, 2010. The band consists of 3 female
founding members, Ikkyu Nakajima (vocals / guitar), Motoko “Motifour”
Kida (guitar / backing vocals), and Hiromi “hirohiro” Sagane (bass /
backing vocals). The current male drummer Kazutaka Komaki joined in May,
2011.


The band develops a very unique world with
perfectly mixed elements of pure, fragile but strong vocals and
thrilling, unpredictable but addictive song transition. The band’s
experimental music primarily consists of melodic post-rock-inspired
sounds and complex rhythm reminiscent of math rock. Their live
performance is far more vibrant and intense than you could expect from
their appearances and is highly praised by fans and media.

Just wanted to dig out this old topic to say that their new album 'THE' is an instant classic, album tracks outdoing the singles one after another, and everything, every song and the band's sound fully developed, confident. Just blown away.

Oh good there's a thread for this. I loved THE ever since the album came out.

I recently got into them. They're totally math rock to me.

Watched them Last night. Definitely one of the best experience I've had. They're so close I can grab Hiromi (<3) right out of the stage. Haha! I manage to get Kida's pick, had my album signed. Shook all of their hands and talk to them for a while. Well if you're from Manila and didn't attend tricot's concert, you definitely missed half of your 2014.

I watched them live here in Manila and it was crazy! Had so much fun with the Tricot Manila Street Team. Tricot band members are very kind and accommodating. Ikkyu said 'I'll be back' so I'm really looking forward to it :D

^ damn straight, man. i went nuts when i saw them dance while Komaki-san is soloing! definitely the one of the best nights of my life.

Love this band so much.

I wonder how they will go on without their drummer komaki.

Watch them last saturday night in manila with chano kun and mewithouyou.. all i can say is they are one of the best band ive seen and heard in my life.. This band make my whole night crazy. We enjoy watching them.. :)they know how to have fun while playing.. im going to see them live again  

please try to listen to their music.. you'll not regret to hear the music they made

i really enjoy the night with the TRICOT band.. so friendly and i know TRICOT band was so happy to be with Filipino.. because we didnt see any frown in their face after the gig . they still smiling while doing the meet and greet session

Komaki is one of the best drummer i hope he's still the one who'll play the drums when they come back here

Ikkyu's voice is so <3 i'm stunt and had goosebumps when i heard her voice... her voice is still ringing in my ear <3

Hiromi.. yep my favorite among them... so energetic , so good:) once you see her play the bass you'll go nuts.. seriously i couldn't take my eyes on her. I had so much fun seeing her playing the bass. one of the best girl bassist i've seen ...

Motoko, one of the best female guitarist. seriously she's the only female guitarist ive seen playing while doing some foot technique (something like moon walk ) .. she's a little bit look like Mami.  Motoko is great, hyper and beautiful :)her skill is so <3

all i can say they are one of the best! so please support them

I just watched them on ustream from the VOLT festival in Hungary. What an amazing tight set! And the crowds gathered and ended up with a very decent amount of people. I'm sure they got new fans with that. 

I hope the stream is uploaded somewhere.

Also Yamaguchi Miyoko was amazing on drums, she seems like the perfect replacement permanently unless she's tied up in other bands atm.

New s ingle "E" on February 18th and... *drum roll* FULL NEW ALBUM in March! Follow up to my absolute album of that year THE. Oh and a one man tour.

I didn't know Tricot has lots of Filipino fans. Great for those who saw them live.
Well I hope they'll go overseas again in their upcoming one man live. I'd want to see them live.

The first song I heard from them is 「おちゃんせんすうす」while listening to other japanese bands in YT~
I might've mixed up Ikkyu and Motofour a lot of times. But yeah, I could pin point who is who already haha.
Been hearing a lot of Tricot (Ikkyu//Motofour) from SCANDAL (Mami//Tomomi) too.
Well, yeah. That's just about it! Lol

I just came back from seeing tricot live in Leeds. Front row slap bang in front of Ikkyu.

SUPERB BAND LIVE! Also, Miyoko's drumming was top knotch.

Lucky! I've been following whatever cam footage shows up online from their European tour. They're not coming to my country so that's all I can do.
