Hello everyone!

My name is Kuba and I'm from the Czech Republic. I have been frequenting this forum for a while now, but I finally created an account. I cannot thank you guys enough for all these wonderful posts, as I don't speak Japanese at all and otherwise wouldn't have known pretty much anything about my favorite band. This seems to be a lovely positive community and I am very happy to become a part of it.

I discovered SCANDAL quite recently during quarantine. About a year ago I got a recommendation from YouTube to watch their performance of Shunkan Sentimental at J-MELO in 2015 and it was a love at first sight/listen. It didn't take me more than a few weeks to listen to everything that they've ever done and I now love it all. I am quite sensitive and compassionate, so I really needed such feel-good music to help me get through this past year or so and preserve my sanity. The world is not so jolly right now.

I am generally not a huge fan of many Japanese artists, I am more of a 70's and 80's prog guy (which would suggest that I'm older than my actual age of 23). Together with SCANDAL, my solid top 3 also includes Genesis and Rush. Won't bother you with listing the other 100 bands that I am a fan of. I just found these four girls so impressive, that they made their way into my top 3 in no time. They already mean a lot to me.

Favorite song: Love Survive. Favorite album: Kiss From The Darkness. 
I have also developed a massive crush on Haruna, which I'm hoping to get rid of, as it takes up a bit too much of my brain capacity at the moment.  [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I noticed you included Midnight Television in your top 5. Considering your absolute favorite has changed since then, who knows where it is now, lol. But hey, at least someone appreciates that song. It might just be their most underrated one. I'd say majority of their fans may not even know it. Cool!

  I was lucky enough to know SCANDAL from the beginning, I saw a tiny ad for them in my
  daughter's anime news and I thought they were a live act version of K-On !

  I was amazed to find they were real and could really play.
 
  I am also a huge Prog Rock fan but I am old and was actually there.
  I even played bass in more than one but nobody famous.

  I knew Gary Brooker from school and he invited me to play bass in Procol Harum but I said
  no, you will never get anywhere with a stupid name like that....*sigh*

  Being a huge Tomomi fan I have to say my favourite song is 'Kan Biiru'

  Yes the last couple of years have been tough in the UK too and music really does help.

It's so nice to see how Scandal's music reaches new fans all over the world, even those who are more into other genres. As you said, that's the power of their feel-good music.

@tonymiller You have a cool trajectory Tony, so many stories. I actually have a Procol Harum LP record.

By the way @Kuba, did you know that there's a japanese band called "Czecho No Republic"? Their music was even featured on Dragon Ball.

That's cool, I've never heard of them before. I listened to a couple of their tunes and they're quite fun. Sadly, Japanese music (or frankly anything other than local stuff or American top 40) generally doesn't have much exposure over here, so even if a band has us in their name, we don't know about it. 
Thank god for internet, right?
And nice to see that someone is as mesmerized by Haru as me.

Sadly it is very rare to hear Japanese music in the UK too, K-Pop but not Japanese music.

There's no way I could name a favourite SCANDAL song...but if I really had to I'd go with Space Ranger
Fave album...maybe Yellow.

 A bit late welcome to our lovely place hh.
 I discovered SCANDAL on Youtube while I was looking for some bleach opening songs and been a loyal fan since then. Haruna was the first member I ever noticed so I do feel how hard it is to get her out of the head haha


My favorite songs and albums change depending on my mood all the time, but I think for the album, I've finally settled down to Kiss From The Darkness.
