Hello,
Been enjoying the content here as a lurker for a few months and decided to finally join the group.
I'm relatively new to Scandal. I'm from Atlanta, GA in the US. A friend here had suggested listening to Scandal. We met through Band-Maid. We roomed together in 2019 during the most recent Band-Maid US tour seeing all the shows across the US, it was only 4 (out of 5) . We missed the 5th show because they announced it after we had already booked our flights and accommodations.
Anywho... I digress. I had listened to a little bit of Scandal after his suggestion but they never really took hold until about midway through last year.
I had a ticket for their Kiss from The Darkness show that was scheduled here in ATL in 2020 and we all know how that turned out. I had initially bought the ticket as means of showing support to Japanese bands that ATL is a viable market for them in the hopes fo getting Band-Maid here as well.
Well... given all the time we had at last year I circled back to Scandal. I think the song that really got my interest Masterpiece. Something about that song and the PV really resonated with me. From there I stared diving deeper. Came across Space Ranger and was finally hooked. Soo many good songs they have in their extensive library. I love their mix of pop, punk, ska, rock, 90s alternative, jazz, blues... love Mami and Rina's voices (wish there were more lead vocals from them) and was floored by Dobondobondo LOL.
This band is fantastic! Such great harmonies, song writing, and interesting lyrics. Really love their chemistry on stage as well. I have binged all of their live shows (yes, not official vids, mea culpa) and love their big arena stage shows with all the pageantry. I teared up when Tomo did at Osaka-Jo Hall, I understood what that show meant to her and the rest of the band, very emotional!
Anywho... thanks for having me here and I look forward to more from this amazing group of talented ladies! Hoping that the rescheduled show from last year to this year actually happens now that I have deeper appreciation for the band.
Cheers and keep rockin'!
Brian
