Setlist
- "Departure" -- Love this song and expected it on the setlist (it's their most prominent seasons-related song after all lol), but it probably wasn't the strongest start to a concert.
- "Short short" -- Not a big fan of this song, but seeing it live for the first time made me appreciate it a lot more now! Had also expected the "sha la la" to be a backing track but it seems Mami/Tomo do it live, that was a nice touch.
- "Morning sun" and "Uchiagehanabi" -- Both ok. Ngl by this time I'd zoned out a little. Had expected the band to go into something more fast-paced by now, cos the energy level of the whole concert still hadn't seemed to have picked up.
- "Take Me Out" -- Love this song and all live renditions of it (this version was without the "extended intro"). This was a turning point in the concert for me cos the energy level of the entire concert instantly went up. Tomo started to smile and dance and Mami/Rina looked more perked up too.
- MC -- Haru was either out of breath or fighting back tears, or both, at the start of the MC but she calmed down very quickly. Didn't understand what she said but it was clear this MC was a tad on the emotional side for the band. It also seemed unusually long.
- "Stamp! (Acoustic ver.)" -- Hearing all four members sing lead vocals was a treat. I'd never really noticed that parts of the song had sweet three-part harmonies too, until this rendition. Though, Tomo on acoustic bass would have rounded out the accompaniment better cos she didn't play the tambourine much.
- "Tsuki" -- Identical to the one on KFTD stream, so won't comment much on this.
- "Tonight" -- Imo best live of this song so far. Haru definitely had vocal effects layered on, though I can't tell if that was done during or after the performance. Could hear Mami's tiny guitar riffs more clearly too.
- "SUKI-SUKI" -- Love this song, first time seeing it live, didn't disappoint.
- "HELLO" -- Ok.
- "HARUKAZE" -- Love this song but didn't expect it on the setlist, so it was a really pleasant surprise. It also reminded me how precious Haru-Tomo twin vocals songs are these days, since they hardly do it anymore.
- "Masterpiece" -- Good energetic ending to the whole concert.
Although I enjoyed the stream, the overall energy level felt lower than that of the KFTD stream. It's probably deliberate due to fewer upbeat songs on the setlist, but it may have been also Scandal taking a while to warm up and the subdued audience.
Also, the ticketing website listed the stream duration as 90 minutes, but it was actually 80. If you don't count the CG intro, intervals and the MC it's probably closer to 70. Very short for a Scandal concert, but not a dealbreaker.
Visuals
- Since the NAKED collaboration was so hyped up, I paid more attention to the backdrop than I have in any concert lol.
- There are a few songs where the CG worked really well. During "Tsuki", parts of the CG were clearly timed to the song, and the "eclipse" effect at the end really wrapped up the song well. Fireworks and autumn leaves during "Uchiagehanabi" and "Departure" respectively were nice touches, since the songs were about those topics.
- For the rest of the songs however, the CG didn't seem relevant to the songs and was generally unremarkable. In "Take Me Out" I could only see flashing lights lol.
- Scandal members were dressed in all-white so their outfits wouldn't clash with the CG. Not a big fan of the nightgown look, but the all-white was a nice throw-back to their "Standard" days for me.
