As of this writing Scandal is well into their 11th year.  I discovered them late, but as soon as I found them they instantly became one of my favorite new bands.  Scandal is now one of my favorite all-time bands.

I am curious what other young bands (or solo artists) have debuted within the last 10 to 12 years that everyone else enjoys.  I hope to discover new music with this question.  Here are my top favorites in order:

Unfortunately, I haven't listened to new Filipino and international artists outside Japan. I'm more of a 70s and 90s rock and modern j-rock fan.

Currently, I am a big fan of gravure idol turned pop singer Ai Shinozaki.

I barely listen to any music, just Scandal and JAM, but recently I discovered "Scenarioart" (thanks to Mami in twitter lol). The drummer is so cute and sings so well while playing, is amazing.

Try listening to Franco if you haven't yet.

I just listen to Scandal all day. Well, not all day, during break time or free hours. If not Scandal it's either ONE OK ROCK, Bandmaid, KPP, or some songs from Flumpool, Chelsy, and other J artist.

Gavin Dunne(Miracle of Sound) he started around 2010-2011. Until now I can say he is the best man singer/producer/writer/etc I know and Haruna is the best girl singer that I know of.
Also there are Chvrches, found them due to a song they made for Mirror's Edge Cataclyst('Warning Call'). On Wikipedia it says they started in 2011 too. And that's most stuff I listen to.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've listened to Franco many years ago. His melodies and riffs are great but his Rastafarian concept is not my cup of tea. I'd prefer the more lyrically diverse Urbandub.

My favorite bands are Scandal, The Oral Cigarettes, Alexandros (Japan), Royal Republic (Sweden) and IV of Spades (Philippines).
I also like a lot of songs from other Japanese bands and I'm pretty sure 80% of the songs that I listen to is Japanese. And because of Scandal, I learned to like music more.
