I discovered this band last night while trolling around on YouTube and I absolutely LOVE them!  From what I can find on the internet, they have been around about as long as Scandal, and have put out 5 albums and 3 EPs.

I'm surprised no one's brought them up in this forum.  Wondering if anyone else has discovered them yet.

Musically they reminds me of Julianna Hatfield.  It's a punkish pop/rock sound.

these guys are great. I remember when they only wrote/sang in english (even though when i first found them i couldnt understand her english haha) their pop punk sound really took me back to junior high/highschool.

honestly, if you try to hear them without looking the videos, it sounds like American songs like greenday or something like that, combined with Japanese a lot.... so unique, and great.

one more thing, the vocalist was beauty.... looks so cute

Green Day could be an influence...

Tokyo Sunset is currently my favorite song from them. 
Great band, real underrated band in my opinion.

They are one of my favorite bands - been following them for a few years.  When I was in Japan in February for DOLL$BOXX/Gacharic Spin/Fuki as luck would have it SpecialThanks was playing at O-West the day I arrived.  I went straight from Narita Airport to my hotel, quick shower, then immediately headed to the venue. Got there just in time to see their set - they were opening for Lext.
After their set I got to talk with Misaki at the merchandise table - was an awesome night

SpecialThanks will be releasing their new EP, "Heartlight" on February 21.  I can't wait.  I very much love this band, and it's exciting that my three favorite Japanese bands have all released new content around the same time (Scandal and Band-Maid being the other two).  Here's the latest video:

This band is actually cool. And misaki is really beautiful. I like their song I my me mine. 

Love them. Got to know them about the same time as scandal. 
But i do still prefer Scandal :D
