Hello SCANDAL fans, I joined a short time ago after lurking on the boards for quite a while. I have always enjoyed their songs and skillful playing, and I like to play along with many of their tunes. Beyond that, I like their positivity.  Often, they urge others to "do your best" and "believe in yourself." Not everyone can become successful, but everyone can get better at whatever they try and trying is sometimes the most important thing (despite what Yoda said). Their obvious affection for one another is also very appealing and fun to watch. Don't we all want a core group of friends to share life with?

I look forward to sharing SCANDAL fun with everyone!

Hi,

Welcome to the active side of SH Happy

I love many Japanese groups but to me SCANDAL are different because I really like them as people as well as their music.

I have really enjoyed watching them grow as musicians over the years and I look forward to seeing what they do next.

Hope you have fun here....I have.

Welcome to the club.  Nice to see another Scandal fan stateside.  I'm trying to do my part with friends and family to grow Scandal's popularity to get them to come back and visit us.  Hope you're doing the same where you are.

I agree, I love their positivity and how their music always sounds happy.  I'm always surprised to finally read the translated lyrics of some songs and find out it's a sad story.

How did you discover Scandal?  I stumbled upon them on YouTube.  Best discovery ever.

Yes, at some point I stumbled on them online probably while looking at another Jrock band. I do talk up SCANDAL with friends, and everyone likes them once they've heard them, too bad more people don't know them, at least in the U.S. I  see from Google Trends that they are less "searched for" than several years ago. I guess every band goes through times when they are not as "hot," and I know they are pretty popular in Japan and the Philippines, but I'd still like for them to be the international superstars they deserve to be! I like their later, more mature work even more than the early stuff and selfishly want them to continue making music (until they themselves are done). Writers and editors are pretty accessible online these days. I thought about asking SH people to email a few key ones (like Pitchfork) to see if we could get them interested in writing an article or two in markets where they are not as well known. Of course, the world is big, and I'm biased 'cause I want them to play the States!
