Small update. It's coming along nicely. I'm still shooting for Friday to have a preliminary track done.

In order to do a track I'm 100% satisfied with, I'll most likely need 3-4 extra days. I should have lots of time this weekend so it won't be a problem. Now, in order to not hold back the project, I'll make a usable track by Friday. I'll be recording along the Scandal song so there won't be any tempo differences between that track the my final one. The next in line (WengChong?) will be able to use it to record his part, it's just that Kevin will have to wait a few more days to receive the track he'll be able to use for mixing.

As long as its in tempo to what i said earlier along with the official song release no problem.

Ow that wasn't the final drum part? Well hold on on the bass for a bit, just so everything can fit in like a puzzle piece. Tempo really plays a crucial part here so its best to just wait until everything is finalized to move forward.

For the video, the concept for this cover vid is more of a particular style, than a "story".

I'd like to see a bit of attitude in the band's performance that feels a bit edgy/bad-ass. You don't need to buy a biker jacket or go to a salon to get a pompadour (you can if you so desire). Have a look at this PV from The Street Beats (from Crows Zero) - I am not recreating that vid, but channeling the feel to it. SCANDAL had done something similar when they did their nanka buttobase vid.



As for the individual performance videos, if you could have a medium long shot (please see the third photo in the top row in the pic below) of you (and your guitars/bass) that'd be great.



This doesn't require any fancy equipment - just place your camera in the right position. I'd prefer to see the guitar/bass players standing, but if you really can't, a sitting down video will do *grudgingly*. But if you could do a standing up performance, it'll be soooo much better.

clem84 - could you have your camera angled like this one you had for Onegai:



If you could have the angle slightly lowered so that I could see your face please, and if the camera is slightly further away that'd be great as I'd wanna try do the vid in my fav cinematic 2.35:1 widescreen format. If there are certain aspect of the songs that you judge cool to have a specific angle captured eg close up of a drum roll - please go ahead and include that in a separate video file.

I just need the weather to clear up a bit. I'm thinking in 2-3 weeks it should be ok. I don't know if I'll do it yet. The logistics of it all seem like a lot so I'll see if it's doable. But I'll follow your suggestions about the angle. Maybe I'll do two, one at home one outside. 

Kevin, about the tempo and possible synchronization problems. I recorded the track in midi, part by part, and made sure everything was synchronized with the original song. The modifications I'll make are going to be things like remove a tom here, add a snare there, and so on... I won't move any of the main parts so everything will still be synched when I'm done. I guarantee it.

As we discussed, there were 2 stick hits missing. I made an attempt to record them with my phone and I guess it sounds ok. If you feel you can do better Kevin, by all means go ahead. I rendered the audio twice, one with the sticks and one without.
