Starting a thread for Ueda Marie, as I've been bumping in to lots of SCANDAL Fans at her events and concerts

Marie UEDA (植田 真梨恵, born September 22, 1990) is a Japanese singer and songwriter under Giza Studio label. She is from Kurume (久留米市) a city in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

Her genre fits in to Ballads and Pop/Rock, especially with her acoustic and electric guitar playing. Give it a listen and let me know what you think

Hey Wildthing, thanks for starting this thread. I recently just splurged on most of her back catalogue in the last month after buying her latest album (which rocks, btw)

While her older stuff is still good (her "Taikutsu na Coppelia" album has some nice grunge/post grunge songs on), the latest two full albums of hers are definitely more polished and more accessible sound-wise to mainstream audiences.

Some of my favourites are "Kare ni Mamotte Hoshii 10 no Koto" and "Yume no Parade" and "Chukagai e Ikimasho" and "Merry Go Round".

Yeah her image and music has changed since going mainstream debut.

Glad you enjoy her music too, she just finished her latest tour "Lonely night magic spell" yesterday in Osaka.

I saw a youtube thumbnail and said "Haruna?", clicked and wasn't dissappointed. It was a live version of 「ダイニング」 uploaded by "wildthingsan"... wait, that's you! I wanted to thank you because I really like her, it's like a  mix of Yuki (judy and mary) and shishamo? 

Hasn't heard all of her songs yet but I loved the first two and last albums

Yep that's me thanks, she writes her own songs and plays the guitar (electric and acoustics very well). I had to be a little bit careful with some of the tv programs, I got strikes before :p

She has a new single coming out soon and as usual she will play a free live at Shinjuku Tower records, a lot of time she just takes a guitar on stage and sings.

Hi! I have a question, her last DVD (the 10th anniversary one) was supposed to release on 2018.7.21 but isn't on CDjapan, can it be found on stores? A local seller is traveling to Tokyo next week and I wanted to take the chance and buy it along UTAUTAU and the "Lonely..." one... are those common on stores as well?  [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

There was a live performance, as part of her indie 10th anniversary. I'm not aware of any DVD release at this stage.

As for stock of the two other, you could try checking the Tower records website, they're most likely to say whether they're in stock or not.just had a quick look on Amazonjp and they're not in stock, so you'd have to know where to get them locally in Japan I'd guess. Or just order them on Cdjapan, and see if they can source them for you ;-)

The LoadStar concert was available for limited streaming on YouTube for fanclub members, it was an unlisted video. 

Marie also afterwards started to sell access to video via an app (Take out Live), you need a scratch card code to watch special videos etc. Downloadable to your device till the end of this year.

The initial gimmick was she recorded a 360 video on the app, since the release of the app she has release a few more videos, total of 16, All the songs from the YouTube video I mentioned previously, but also some exclusive from the Osaka Live at Shangri-la, radio recording etc.

The access for the app costs 3000yen.

Since the playlist included a lot of songs from her Indies period so I wonder if there was some contract issues old contract etc. for making a DVD. Although TEN HOUSE her old label is actually under GIZA studio.

I think you must of mis-read the news.

2018.7.21 was actually her concert in Osaka at Shangri-La
2018.7.30 was her concert in Tokyo at Shinjuku ReNY

I think the chance for a concert is going to be slim for this concert, since the full concert was on YouTube and the app I mentioned already has many songs and behind the scenes from it.

More likely you will have to wait for the currently tour to end and see if there will be a live DVD of "goodbye stereotype tour"

Yesterday on tweeter she did a survey with regards to DVD/Blu-ray/Download, the result was Blu-ray, so fingers cross she might decide on a Blu-ray release next!

I was at "goodbye stereotype tour" today in Tokyo

For next year, there is Live of Lazworld and it will be recorded for a live blu-ray!
At today's live she let slip she will be at Count Down Japan but we don't know what day.
Kinda cute she was saying this will probably be the last live except Count Down Japan oops.
