Sorry,
Theme:TOMOMI

I said yesterday that we no longer eat okonomiyaki because we've come to Hiroshima so many times,

Sorry, - 2016-04-24 (TOMOMI) Z2SQHcE

But we ate it today!

Coming to Hiroshima really does make you want to eat it.

It's so satisfying.

Everyone who came out to BLUE LIVE, thank you!

Steam was coming from everyone's heads, you know.

It was a steamy night.

I've only tried Osakan okonomiyaki. Gotta try Hiroshima's okonomiyaki next time. It looks so good! Wouldn't be surprised if the girls couldn't resist even though they've eaten it many times

Okonomiyaki'es are great DIY food - easy, affordable and with such many possibilities. So try to do it at home - all You need is big enough frying pan some cabbage, flour, water and imagination, neh? GO for Osaka-style - it is easier to make without proper equipment.
And that remained me I haven't done it for a while, so tomorrow off we go to buy some cabbage Happy

Same here. I've tried Osaka-style Okonomiyaki at a few restaurants, but I haven't been able to find a place that has Hiroshima-style. I wanna try it with the yakisoba noodles added on.

Yes they say the Hiroshima version is layered and not mixed and has more okonomiyaki sauce which is similar to Worcestershire sauce but thicker and sweeter.

That's one of the dishes I want to try when I visit in August. There aren't any restaurants in Atlanta that offer it that I have seen. Heck, we don't have that many Japanese cuisine restaurants except for sushi places. And, actually, most of them are Korean owned, so the majority of the non-sushi menu is Korean inspired cuisine rather than Japanese inspired.

If You have even slightest amount of culinary skills You can do it Yourself. Today I made first attempt to do okonomiyaki Hiroshima style (usually I do Osaka ones) using just big flat frying pan I usually make pancakes with. And it was... passable - I have to experiment a little more with timing for different layers, but salmon, soba and egg (with chopped spring onions) topping was not such a bad mix. One thing I can't substitute are konbu flakes to sprinkle okonomiyaki with Sad
